I would try something a little different. I’d match Couturier against Malkin as much as possible and try to have the Provorov/Ghost pair in the ice whenever possible against the Crosby line. - BiggE
I like this approach. I'm not the biggest MacDonald fan but I do trust him enough to see time against Crosby or Malkin.
As for Filppula, if he's playing with Simmonds, I think he has to take one of those match ups. |

From Scott Cullen (tsn.ca)
PITTSBURGH vs. PHILADELPHIA
The Pick: Pittsburgh in seven.
Why: This series could have some chaos, in part because neither team can really trust their goaltending. If Matt Murray was playing like he did in his first two seasons, the Penguins could be relatively comfortable in their pursuit of a third straight Stanley Cup. They have the playoff pedigree, having won back-to-back Cups, and they have spectacular high-end talent, with Evgeni Malkin, Phil Kessel and Sidney Crosby each averaging better than a point-per-game during the regular season. The Flyers shouldn’t go away easily, however. For one thing, the Pennsylvania rivalry should turn up the heat on the series, and that’s been a hallmark of the Flyers in the postseason - win if you can, lose if you must, but definitely turn it into a street fight.
It would be easier to like Philadelphia’s chances if their goaltending was solid, but it’s not. Brian Elliott started a couple of games late in the year after coming back from injury, but he’s been mediocre this year anyway. For the Flyers to pull off the upset, they might need a young player – Ivan Provorov, Travis Konecny or Nolan Patrick – to rise up. |

That makes sense because I'm not comfortable using Fillpula against either player if Konecny and Simmonds are his wingers. That is the downside to that line. On the road though it might happen and I'm okay with Patrick getting some time against them. Bound to happen. - MJL
I'm not comfortable with any line outside of Couturier going up against Crosby or Malkin. I would choose Filppula as a vet who has been there before in both winning a Cup in Detroit and going to a Final with Tampa.
As much as we call Provorov and Ghost our top pair, Mac sees a lot of heavy left as well on his pair. |

Feel pretty safe in saying that this isn't THAT kind of Flyers team.
They are in the bottom 3rd in the league, with respect to taking penalties and they have 1 fewer fight this year than the Nashville Predators. |

Ironically, it's the first time in years that they can use the "goaltending is a problem" chestnut and actually have it be sort of correct, yet, here, the guys goes right to "PHILLY FIGHTZ". |
