I hate parity. I think it's fun when there are elite teams.
The NBA is about the journey and the moves you make today that benefit you 2-3 years down the road. Do the Sixers have a chance at winning the title this year? No. But through a series of smart moves, they've assembled a roster with young talent and enough cap space to sign any free agent this summer. This couldn't have happened without years of planning.
Also, the reason the NBA has such little parity is because the sport simply has a low level of variance compared to others. The better team almost always wins the series. NHL, MLB and NFL teams can luck their way to playoff victories. - PhillySportsGuy
Definitely. Also, 1 player can have more of a dramatic effect on the game than the other sports except perhaps the quarterback |

He makes it look so easy - Just5
He moves easily and can get his own shot, but he sees the game like Magic saw it.
I really feel like this is why it's been easy to get guys like ReRichard or Bellinelli or even Ilyasova to come back. This team moves the ball and everyone eats and Simmons is the facilitator. |

It's looking like the Flightless birds. Love it!
Not that they would need any motivation but can you imagine how much of motivation this will be for G, Voracek, Coots, and the rest of the guys?
Konecny I can just see the grinning from end to end at the chance to end Pitts reign. - Yosimar89
100% of the pressure would be on the Pens, the Flyers are playing with house money. Anything can happen, the Penscare a very good team, but they have some legit flaws. I don’t think they are as good as the team that won the Cup last year. |

Plus the NFL playoffs are 1 and done. Any team/player can have that one monster game and beat a better team. In hockey, a red hot goalie can steal a series. In the NBA though, in a 7 game series, the better team is almost always going to win. |

I think he might struggle in the playoffs. It's a different animal. Teams really scout well and take away all of things you want to do. The Heat would be a tough matchup for him.
The regular season is about maximizing your team's strengths. The postseason is about minimizing your team's weaknesses - PhillySportsGuy
You might be right, but even if you are....
Do you honestly think Simmons won't come back next year with a new weapon as a result? He seems like "that dude" that won't be happy until his game is rounded out and he wins.
I also look forward to Fultz getting his game back and whatever pick we get from the Lakers. |

Jersey has a good shot at taking the Caps out in the playoff if their D can hold. I hope Columbus goes over to the Atlantic and gets annihilated. Torts needs to go early out of the playoffs. |

I wouldn’t call it luck. NBA have the smallest rosters. You need 2 superstars to compete. 3 to have a chance to win. It is a lot less team oriented of a sport. There are no Nick Foles stories in the nba. Personal preference I guess

I think the most important thing will always be surrounding Simmons with shooters. As long as he has shooters, I think he'll develop into such a dominant inside player that teams simply won't be able to do anything about it. |

I've always liked Ovi, but there's something about that team that can probably beat every team in the NHL except Pittsburgh. |

Ovi used to have a lot of annoying junk in his game. Had a big mouth and a lot of questionable hits. He's seemed to mature though and overcome it. Kudos to him.
Sid is still the same (frank) he's always been. |

So if the Jackets lose, we'll get the 3rd metro spot and play the Pens while the Jackets get TB? And if they win it'll be opposite because they'll get the 3rd metro spot right? |

While the game is a different style then it was 5 years ago..
From an entertainment perspective Ill take a chance to watch G go up against Crosby any day. Just two great players there regardless of the team.
Oh you also have Malkin, Kessel , Jake, Ghost and Provy...lots of talent everywhere. |
