Uhh yeah. I need DET to get best lottery odds possible and as improbable as it is I need PHI in the ECF.

With Elliott or Lyon as the starter...sure.

I've said sevetal times I feel the Pens uninspired play of late has beem partly influenced by playing 8 games in 13 days and I'm sticking by that.

We're weaker in a couple areas. Back-up goalie you hope you don't need but it's been a deciding factor for us the past 2 years.

Nobody loves those stay at home PK defenders, but the last 2 years we had Cole and either Lovejoy or Hainsey to round out the d core. I'm worried about that biting us at some point as our PK is now so bad it's more likely we get scored on then our PP scotes.

We have positives though. We're deeper up front and even down the middle then the last 2 years. All 3 of the top lines are showing some chemistry (it's usually been 2 each year). Sheahan, ZAR, and Simon give them plenty of options to plug in.

A healthy Letang, rejuvenated Maatta, Schultz, and Oleksiak give us the deepest puck moving group we've had on the blueline. Last 2 years it's been either Letang or Schultz with a bit of Daley doing most of that work.

Hey I loved Cole. And I was pretty cool with Lovejoy after the badness of the trade that got him here washed out of my mouth.

Its not possible to regret trading for Brassard but man this just goes to show how bad that Hunwick pick up was. We'd be a better hockey team if we still had Cole.

If the Pens can get their play to a high standard & reduce/eliminate all the poopty little mistakes then they are in for a big show. All the errors Tanger & co have been guilty of through the regular season will hopefully be reigned in by Sully. Sid will switch it on & hopefully so will the team.

If we look at the teams in front of us, they will have to play a pretty/very high standard of hockey to win. I'm worried about coming up against a team that will bully & bash the Pens, maybe that's more a western team but there's a couple in the east as well.

I'll make my call on how worried I am after the first two games of Round 1. In neither year that we won the Cup have we been the team that coasts through the regular season and then turns it on during the playoffs, and in the years that followed our original '09 Cup run we had the tendency to do the exact opposite. This is a very different Pens team that just won the first back to back titles in the salary cap era, so maybe the regular season truly doesn't matter to them anymore, but with so few games left until the playoffs and seeding still being determined, I assumed around now would be when I would start seeing the turnaround. Hasn't really happened.
- Victoro311

I feel the same. It's not like they're seeding is solidified and we're just going through the motions like some teams are right now.

It's going to be really interesting watching the next game against CBJ. It'd be nice to re plant that seed of doubt in Bob's head with a pre-playoff ass kicking.

That'll be a good litmus test. If the Pens come out flying for the last game that matters this season, some of my doubts will be alleviated.

Do you now doubt Tampas Cup ambitions after a few of their losses? I don't think they will get past round 2 personally, but if you don't doubt Tampa, the Pens poor play may not be that big of a problem with how well they have played 'some' games.

Jackets had their streak then it was over. Flyers the same. Devils have been atrociously inconsistent & the Caps have shown games where they weren't great.

I've been doubting Tampa for months. They're just too top heavy. They also banked a lot of points while other teams were still figuring things out.

I mean, we worry about Hunwick, but they have Girardi as a top 4. And their path may be Toronto, Boston, Pittsburgh, Nashville, all teams with 3 scoring lines that can expose them.

Agree, miss Cole but wouldn't take that trade back. Having Brassard for an extra year at 3M is great value.

I'm not sure he will, but I believe Hunwick is capable of playing better. He really should be a good fit for what they want: a PK defenseman who can skate and move the puck decently. Running out of time to turn his season around though. Need him to pull a Hags or Sheary improvement.

I wonder how much patience the organisation has with Hunwick. Didn't it take Paul Martin a season to settle in?

Yes, as there was with Gonchar, but a team will be more patient with dmen on the level of Martin and Gonchar than they will a 3rd pairing dman like Hunwick.

So in my attempt to have a real discussion you resort to insults. Sounds like you don't practice what you preach or understand much of anything.

-Teams will be patient with players on a new team.
-Martin and Gonchar took a while to acclimate(dictionary.com if you don't know that word), but they were patient because they were high level players.
-Hunwick is not a high-level layer, so I don't believe they will be as patient.

Haha I saw that, but didn't want to say anything and jinx it. Two periods left for the Wings to (frank) it up.

EDIT: It's not really helping that the Flyers are screwing the pooch .

No you've proven time & again that you are unable to discuss maturely when provided with alternative opinions & logic.

I asked you yesterday to ignore anything further I post as I have zero interest in what you think or think you know. Something you haven't understood or are able to comprehend.
