There's nothing wrong with rooting for a win. Rooting for your team. Because despite your support, they're going to play the way that they play, and there's not a god damn thing you can do about it.

you as a fan have zero control over their success or failures on a per game basis.

On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with brushing off a loss and stating, welp, at least we have better odds.

Wins help this team mesh and gain confidence. Something they'll need for next year. Winning helps show the coaches what works and what can and should be carried over next season. And vice versa for losing. The team has been a tire fire and needs a massive clean up, obviously. I'm just excited for the entire offseason.

Are there facts to disprove rooting for your team doesn't help them win?

Positive energy? Especially live?

my point is if youre going to berate fans for wanting to finally root for wins after all this time, youre an bumhole
- robz228

Well yeah. Sorry, that post wasn't aimed at you. Was just a general statement piggybacking off your idea.

I'm just not a fan of players that decide okay I'm going to play now

I might sound like I'm on rock salt but I truly believe he's just thinking about the money

Before he was most likely going to get a 3 million dollar deal right I guarantee you people want to throw a $5m now a year

3 people I want moved
Ror , Ristolainen, sam

These three could possibly get us the pieces to becoming a Stanley Cup contender(someday) if the trade is right

- gerbe75pts

Risto is a no unless its for someone like Hall

Ror can be a hockey trade

Sam will be a very tough call, I want to keep him. If he is moved, it better wow me...

Gerbe mentioned to trade sam for a #1 defenseman.

There's a couple #1 projected in 5-7 in this draft

I wouldn't, just asking him

- Boss34

I believe if you can get a number one pick in the top 10 plus something else it would be an easy yes for me

But do you agree that trading these three players could potentially add pieces for a Stanley Cup Someday instead of keeping them

What he's praying for is an 81.5% chance to fail instead of an 86.5% chance to fail.

Maybe because you're guaranteed the 4th overall pick

That's why

I really think a lot of his struggles were trying to grasp the new up tempo system which isn't really his game.

That and the constant line up changes

I still say he is a 55-60 point player in the league.

I would rather have the 4th overall pick and pick my own option then have someone jump me and take the player that we wanted

agree that trading those three players could potentially add pieces for a stanley cup team.. but i also agree that trading those three players could add pieces that make us absolutely no better than we are today.

Kuznetsov and Tarasenko were drafted after Johansen at 4.
Scheifele, Zibanejad, Courturier drafted after Larsson at 4.
Griffin Reinhart was drafted at 4. Forsberg was drafted at 11.
Risto, Nurse, Monahan and Horvat drafted after Jones at 4.
Ehlers, Nylander, Larkin drafted after Bennett at 4.

I'm not afraid of drafting after 4. Botts is 1/1 in finding a guy outside the top 4 who frankly looks better than everyone except Nico right now. Things could change. I think Makar enters that conversation too.

This is where being smarter than we, the fans, comes into play. And why we're not making millions to make said decisions. Gotta trust Botts.

Botterill got lucky last year he actually had a deal in place to move up to take Casey that's how much he liked him but he fell right to him

source please. It's luck that he fell to him, but it's skill and forsight that saw other GMs pass on CM and for Botts to recognize his talent and be confident enough to take him.

He seems to have similar vision and talent as McBeane. I guess you could say Tre White "fell" to them. But he ended up being runner up D rookie of the year. That's impressive for a very low 1st round pick. Not to mention all the other post 1st round hits.
