It was a weird play. Antipin saw him coming, stopped and turned to pass it around the boards and hartnell caught him in a strange spot. I didnt think it looked that bad in reality, i see hits like that all the time where nothing comes of it. It was just a weird play.

Agreed, got the 5 and 10 that the play calls for, but other than a call from Georgie boy telling him not to be a bad boy I don't expect anything will or should come of it.

Yep. I wonder if antipin just absorbs the check and bounces right into the play if its even a penalty at all? Guys get hurt on routine plays all the time, guys dont get injured on really cheap dirty plays all the time too.

With that contract, is it really unrealistic to expect that? Rumor has it, that's what he thought he was ready for in Colorado but he was buried down the depth chart.

Turns out he was slotted correctly in Colorado it appears, he hasn't stepped up and performed at the level he can be, he was lauded for his leadership and I don't see it. Leadership isn't just about owning your poor performance, it's about not tolerating the floating this team has done. Gorges never did, but he doesn't have the talent to lead. ROR was supposed to bring that, was paid like it, and didn't do it.

Here is what I see though, a MODEL of consistency whose production I'll take year in and year out, he's just not paid that way. He's paid as a top player, for a while. That's my ONLY problem with him.

For that kind of money, he needs to be. If he wasn't that player in Colorado, he never should have been acquired and signed for the combination he was. Championship caliber teams understand this.

None of those points count yesterday because Power play stats don’t matter, or count, or are not important, or are a travesty to the NHL or something like that.
