He already traded your Seguin with Hall. Now it’s yime for your Hamilton with Dahlin. Enjoy Kronwall and Abdelkader and losing your 2019 1st with Dahlin. |

Bingo and others,
Thanks for the kind words, but I am a CBJ fan, I am fortunate I only have to watch the Oilers twice a season. You folks have to watch them for 82 games.
BTW Bingo, why in the world are the 'Canes not in the hunt for a playoff spot? Is it your goalie?

Goalie, GM and coach.
We've had two forwards that are over 6 ft tall and 220 pounds lighting up the AHL all year and they just kind of refused to call them up.
Now they've been recalled because the Canes are out of it and, surprise, they can score at the NHL level too.
(frank)ing idiots. |

This is how I feel about Rattie... And the addition of Aberg as well, although that wasn't a call-up situation.
At least we both have these guys to look forward to next year |

So what’s all this hoopla about prospective GMs turning down offers from Carolina?

I would assume it has something to do with Francis |

Might be. I heard that Carolina has been turned down 3 times already. Seems bizarre to me. Not too many NHL GM jobs out there. |

Most of it is that the majority of the top candidates are all on teams that are going into the playoffs.
There may be some trepidation around what happened with Francis and the rumours from idiots like John Shannon about Dundon wanting to run the team like Mark Cuban.
Dundon has said repeatedly that he doesn't want to be making decisions, but instead wants to establish a system where all decisions are as black-and-white as possible.
The GM will manage the front office and make sure it all runs smoothly, while the rest of the office puts together all the hard numbers and information possible to make all decisions on personnel as clear cut as possible. Dundon wants everything set up to maximize performance and eliminate subjective views as much as possible.
None of that "good in the room" poop. Everything has to be justifiable on paper.

3 guys who are on teams in the playoff race withdrew their names.
There were some saying that it was due to the Canes only offering $400-500k per year for the position, but word has since come out that that number is definitely not the lowest in the league. |

It may not be the lowest in the league but it's not enticing to most GM candidates |
