Ok. So, no one other than Frenchy is underestimating the talented youth on the Bruins. |

What way would be better then that. Without the core players do you really think the Bruins would be a good team? Truly unlikely, however I have loved the Bruins drafting, so maybe they keep that up, and continue to be good in the future and dont take a huge step back, but its doubtful.
Either way, inevitably age catches up with everyone, so therefore in the case of who i'd rather see the Leafs play in the playoffs, ill take my chances against the aging core. Not that either is a good choice, just looking for anything to tip the scales.
The fact is the NHL has an awful playoff format, and one of the best teams in the east will be gone in the first round, for dumb NHL reasoning - Archaic
I can just as easily flip your question around and say would we be were we are without the youth? Clearly not, if the last three years were any indication.
We would not be were we are without the core, obviously, but I think these kids are the real deal and will morph into a new core. After all it's all about rotation, I just believe for once a team is actually doing it. I haven't seen a team retool quite as effectively as the Bruins have (at least at the top of my head). |

He is a cyborg. No, ah, no real reason to worry about him not playing for eternity. Right? Right?
- RickJames77
based on his play when healthy he doesn't appear to be getting worse. it looks like he might be one of those guys that can play into his late 30s at a high level |

Carlo sucks. - AdamFrench
He's 21 and has already had a year on the top pairing
Has he been struggling a bit? Of course. It's the hardest position to learn coming into the NHL, but let's not say he sucks 21 playing 19 minutes a night on one of the best teams in the league. |

Boston has a good mix of solid veterans and very good young players.
Reminds me, in some way, of the time Detroit had his core of Yzerman, Lidstrom etc... but had Zetterberg and Datsyuk afterwards to take the leadership once the old guys left.
Obviously, I hope Boston doesn't get as much success as the wings but it's a similar situation. |

chicago consistently rotated talent out while replacing it with youth. seabrook sucking and toews getting old over night kind of killed it for 'em though. the saad trade looks bad too lol. |

I think this year he may be getting more notice because the offense he was bringing to the table when healthy...Probably has to do with the coaching change.

I never said anything or the sorts, but if the Bruins lose some of their older core players, which happens with age, then they arent as good, just my opinion. Again, ill take the older core as a matchup, instead of the younger team with bigger game breakers.
Its a pick your poison type of scenario. |

bull (frank)in poop lol
i wish matchup stats existed. legit don't think bergeron's line would be outscored by any line other than crosby's head to head. 2nd best foward in the league imo. come at me. |

It's wild isn't it? They should be back in a year or two. I really do believe that.
Those Kane and Toews contracts will become more manageable as well. |

The NHL standings are a poop show, there is no doubt in my mind TB is the far better team - Santo_44
I dont know about that. Boston has Tampa in most of the fancy stats areas and whatnot.
Id rather the Leafs face TB in rd 1, but if they manage to win a round they will probably have to face both anyways |

It's sometimes down to matchups though. Boston is really good at shutting down a top unit. Toronto kinda has 3 of those.
Boston would probably do better vs Tampa than Toronto. |

no doubt kopitar is better offensively but the defensive gap is bigger than the offensive one |
