Yea that AJ Contract is so huge..

If he knew this was my guy that I wanted all along he wouldn’t of called around and ask people about him

Let’s not all act that AJ is the franchise now that’s all I’m saying don’t say build around him and poop like that we’re drafting a quarterback this year And the Giants are going to take all our picks who gives a (frank)

- gerbe75pts

No one said that or even insinuated. Why are you so dramatic.

the contract isn't huge and it shouldn't be, AJ has never shown he will be anythign more than a back up. but its still money that they had to spend and i don't see anything wrong with making a few calls to ask opinions on a guy before signing him.

I don't anticipate AJ to be a "franchise" QB... you really are a gem

This is exactly what Beane did. He also said something along the lines of "if I think about throwing big money at one of these FA QBs, jump me."

He did research on ALL the qbs. He found one with a small market that made sense financially and a roster fit for the Bills. And he spoke about the research he did on that particular QB. You can bet your ass he did research on almost every one.

- TheSabresTaco

Yet he was the last QB signed ..

Just saying

Good some people think We should keep the picks and build around him

What’s the point of building around him when he’s not the franchise quarterback

so we’re going to do this all over again when we get the “franchise quarterback”

Just a rinse and repeat situation with this Fanbase

So you're going to fault him for not blowing a massive sum of money on Sam Bradford, Josh McCown or Teddy Bridgewater?

You heard the man. They have no FA money left. They have 42 million dollars of dead cap space for (frank) sakes. It all drops off next year. But this year they have constraints. So yeah, maybe we could have had a better qb for a year like Bridgewater or Bradford, but they broke the bank. We got our back up at a reasonable price. Why is this a big deal?

i have not read back nor do i care to.. but i don't think trading away a bunch of picks for a QB that still is a question is the solution either. i would probably prefer that they address other issues with the teams roster this draft and look for a QB either later that they can mold and wait for or draft that guy next year..

So I do get this logic as the cost for a QB draft pick apparently is going up. It isn't comfortable to pay the amount assumed to be needed to move up.
That said, it is also what the Bills have been doing for what seems like forever..middeling it...waiting for next year.
I will agree with Gerbe in believing they need to execute the pick this year ... yes it will cost a massive amount...but the finally have capital to get there as uncomfortable as it is,
I believe they can plug holes through FA next year when they have the money to spend...after all, no one lets a franchise QB go to FA...and the next tier down in FA costs as much as a franchise one anyway.
Don't buckle at the knees now...unless they truly believe none of these six guys are different from each other AND none will be a franchise QB.
I guess in summary, the price isn't going to go down, and I doubt they ever get as much capital as they have now to work wirh.

Sorry some say “yes “and “could be “

I just think will never get this opportunity to have this many picks to move up to get a quarterback ever again

It’s been 20 years since a quarterback here ? Mind you I started watching the bills when JP was the quarterback

what about trent edwards

drew bledsoe was decent but could never keep it up all season and was slow. had they stuck with Flutie they may have gone further than with Rob.. but at the end of the day they haven't had a true QB since Kelly..

He was really good here his first year, the problem was his defense was BRUTAL

The next year the defense was better but his O-Line was swiss Lehner cheese

Also Rob Johnson another Pac 12 QB that never paid off

My brother-in-law owns a liquor store in San Jose named "Ball Liquors"

True story ... he bought it from a guy last name "Ball"

Needless to say .. he gets a fair share of crank callers ......

- fastek

Always wanted to open a liquor store on Richard Road in Cheektowaga and call it "Richard Liquors" and have nothing but chicks behind the counter, and maybe 1 gay guy. Gotta be fair. Thoughts ?

It's folly to say the Jets overpaid the Colts to move up to the No. 3 spot. The Jets have assured themselves of one of the top four passers in the draft, and @SI_PeterKing thinks Baker Mayfield is their guy

considering the parade of terrible qbs before him it was safe to say you probably weren't the only one who thought he was the answer.. I never thought he was goign to be peyton manning but i thought with a solid defense he could have managed the game and taken the team pretty far..
