I liked your "Brees and draft" option better haha, but yeah again, they put in the work to make the QB cost a lot less of a blow. As long as they don't trade up to 2 and draft Allen, I'm happy.
- RhinoFan

If all it costs are the two firsts this year and a first next I would be okay with it

Basically trading down last year

White and a franchise QB for 2 firsts if you think about it that way

They still have a long way to go but the 2019-2020 season could be something special...

They are still transitioning players from old systems to their current one.

Hot take here:

The Browns will finish with a better record than the Bills this coming season

Browns: 8-8
Bills: 7-9

- Stripes77

Interesting take:
Brown's could go 8-8.

Not sure if I see McDermott taking a step back, but we actually got some breaks last year for the first time in the bills existence. Won games we should have lost.

If we are going 7-9 and picking 10th, maybe we wait on a qb. We still have the jets and fins in the division. That should be 3-4 wins.

8 home games. Hopefully 6 wins?

That's a valid point with the empty netters, but not the complete answer.
And I'm not saying 5 x 5 are any less important then sh or pp. All goals are important.

We need to score more goals period.
That's how we win.

Our defense last year was brutal.
And our goalies had a good save %'s
Lehner sucked, sucks now and will suck in the future

- Boss34

All goals matter, I don’t disagree.

When evaluating players, or trying to win over the long term. One is way more important than the other.

Every active player gets to play 5 on 5. Whether your on line 1 or 4.

Not every player gets PP time. Some shouldn’t, obviously. It’s not like I’m holding it against certain players, I just am not impressed with players that play a ton, and only get on the score sheet when they have more players than the other teams

NFL Network's @TomPelissero just reported that the Vikings have made a call on Drew Brees. This could get interesting.

The Browns defense is pretty solid

They're getting Barkley

They have a good WR corp

Tyrod at the helm for a year could get them to .500 while Allen is groomed

Pittsburgh is fading, Baltimore is rebuilding, and the Bengals are the Bengals

Hmmm

The Bills secondary had the second most INT's+pass break ups last year...adding him over Gaines would be interesting

Imagine if the Bills had any sort of pass rush last year how much better though numbers would have looked

- Stripes77

What kind of trade value does shaq Lawson have?

Wouldn't mind seeing him go

I respect your opinion:

5 x 5 scoring is the new trendy stat.
Last year's #1 pp for the sabres but 5th worst nhl league standing , shows some background to your points.

That's an easy enough pill to swallow. I'll say it again, I am very impressed with Beane and what he has accomplished thus far.

I'd like to see him get one more year

His value is pretty low right now probably a 4th

Is Aaron Palushaj going to come in and score 19 goals? I'm not here to poop on guys or anything, just saying that there's a real big difference between scoring in the SHL and scoring in North America.
- BINGO!

Why u keep comparing 28yr old journeymen & 22yr old prospects is beyond me?

The guys u mentioned aren’t trending upward
They have not potential

A 22yr old who led the SHL in goals does

This really isn’t that complicated

it's not really all that new, for a while now the best teams have all been great 5v5.

I posted not too long ago but of the top 10 teams in the league, 8 are also top 5v5 goal differential. The exceptions were 11th and 13th respectively.

The majority of the game is played at even strength and the refs tend to let things go in the playoffs.

I have yet to see one legit cup contender make their mark because of the powerplay and despite poor 5v5 play.

The #Bills are trading LT Cordy Glenn to the #Bengals, as @JosinaAnderson said. They unload a big salary and get instant LT help.

How about average 5v5 play?

Also, talk about old school thinking that needs to be gone regarding the other bolded part of what you wrote.

Good christ man.

Because the 28 year old journeyman (frank)ing blows, and yet he's doing as well as your 22 year old prospect is in the same league.

That's the point. They're playing at a very similar level right now. Yes, the kid can get better, obviously. But don't expect him to come in right now and have any more impact RIGHT NOW than that poopty 28 year old journeyman would have.

How are you not getting that?

When did i say ANYTHING about right now?
Oh wait... i didn’t

And 33% more goals scored is a HUGE DIFFERENCE in the SEL
The 28yr old journeyman is not on the good 22yr old prospect’s level as a GOAL scorer

Congrats on Derek Ryan though
We are quite happy with the track Olofsson has been on,
regardless of whether or not u wanna keep trying to downplay him

No, but I think that we would need to trade one less additional pick. Maybe those two and a second gets you up there.

That, one 2nd, and 1 3rd should get you into the top 5 imo.

The bills would still pick in the first three rounds
