Takes time Fitzy old boy.
- Hatboro_Swords

Then why did he try to accelerate the process by trading for O’Reilly & Kane, etc?
Obviously he was trying to get us into the playoffs sooner than later by making the moves he did...
and we just didn’t get anywhere close

Some of his picks might turn out to be something, and that would be great

But it seems like your constantly ignoring the utter failure & glaring mistakes he made

Pretty big difference between Derek Ryan’s 15goals at age 28
Vs
Olofsson’s 27goals at age 22

Okay but he IS 22 already.

And take those numbers with a grain of salt. He's being outproduced by Elias Petterson, Ryan Lasch, Joakim Lindstrom, Par Lindholm, Johan Ryno, Richard Axelsson and Aaron Palushaj.

Not exactly elite talent there.

What do you guys think about Joel Quenneville?
If he leaves Chicago he could be a real good get for Buffalo. I know changing coaches Again, especially so quickly probably wouldn't be good but I think he is the kind of coach that would actually get our players to stop slacking off. Coaches of his caliber don't become available too often and wherever he goes I think that team will truly benefit from having him as their coach. Most likely though we will be sticking with PH. Hopefully he can get more out of our players next year then he did this year.

What do you guys think should we dump PH for Joel Quenneville if he wants to come to Buffalo?

- Sabrehagan

Would quenneville come to buffalo?
Too bad we couldn't re assign Phil to defensive assistant coach .

$ is no object, so maybe

I don't think anyone believes he's a perennial all star or something. We're of the mind he's got a knack for goal scoring and can possibly make the jump next year. Maybe a year in Rochester.

Comparing him to Derek Ryan, given the scoring and age differences, doesn't work is all IMO.

22 isn’t old
He’s a good GOAL scoring winger prospect

And what’s your point in trying to dismiss that?

Okay I wasn't trying to compare him to Ryan, just trying to temper expectations a bit.

By the time next season comes around he's going to be 23 years old. That's quite an age to be making your north american debut. He's been playing against men since 2013, so there's that, but I wouldn't count on him being more than a 10-15 goal scorer at the NHL level if he even makes it at all.

He was a Seventh Round pick. I think most people are just glad to get an actual Player with NHL potential who can score some goals.

Bogo just needs to go IMO. Send him with a 2019 3rd to whoever for a 5th.
I have a gut feeling that Moulson may retire. It doesn't save them a ton by buying him out. $666,667 in real cash this year and next (out of his $2mil salary) but his cap hit will be $3,66,667 and $666,667 the following year (3,975,000 cap hit if he's buried next year). I guess a team trying to hit the cap floor might be an option too? $2 mil salary but $5 mil cap hit.

- dadeadhead

There's 2 million reasons why Moulson won't retire. They'll buy him out simply to let the team and player move on. If he did retire, the Sabres would get hit with a cap recapture penalty.

No one i touching Bogo coming off this injury. The team will spend close to the cap next year, even without a significant signing. It has transition year written all over it.

22 is pretty old for a prospect. just shy of 28% of the players drafted in his draft year have played in the NHL so far. Most guys don't develop much after 23.

Botterill is smart, and Sam Reinhart turning things around will be huge for you.

Thanks, I needed that today.

It is truly upsetting running the draft simulator and seeing bubble playoff teams and recent Stanley Cup champs like Chicago winning first overall.

I hate the NHL's draft rules.

Lots of teams looking for tackle help, and trades could be an option. Bills are open to dealing LT Cordy Glenn, and Dolphins are looking to move RT Ju'Wuan James, per sources. In addition, Patriots LT Nate Solder's market's hot
