It's time for me to reveal the truth. I am "The Source" and I can tell you the conversation is verbatim! I threw in the Rangers just to stir the pot! By the way, Toronto fans, JT has about as much desire to play there as Stamkos and Gretzky and Lindros and Fill In The Blank; at least not until they are close to 40!
I personally spoke to a friend of mine who is cousins of one of JT's high school teachers and he was told by a very close friend of JT's agent's assistant that there is a very good chance that JT will resign with the Islanders on a long term contract, or not.

Gretzky actually thought he had a done deal in Toronto but the Leafs backed out. He signed with the Rangers the next day.

First, it's Islanders; a little respect, please. Second, the max term on a contract is 8 years as per the CBA. Third, he will be signed for an enormous contract wherever he goes. He is an elite player and will get paid accordingly. Fourth, shut up!

Many sources had the Blues in heavy on JT at the deadline. I'm sure the Isles demanded a ransom, but with his friendship with Pietrangelo, don't be surprised if they're in the conversation this summer.
