2) Matthews 10M for 8 years
3) Marner 6-7 for 8 years
4) Nylander 6-7 for 8 years

Just an educated opinion, based on his attitudes and actions so far. He said he wants to stay, and I believe him. As I said, Garth Snow screws this up, he’ll need armed guards to make it out of town!

Well he would have if Lou Lams hadn’t insisted on waiting to free agency to offer him a contract and if Parise’s boyfriend didn’t insist on playing in Minnesota and not NJ. It was also a time when the team was financially struggling and deal terms were a lot less restricted. Just saying I think he could have been resigned but a lot went wrong.

Certainly once guys get to free agency anything can happen.

Toronto Is the only place that makes any sense with maybe Buffalo believe it or not as a Darkhorse if he believes in that talent. I know it’s crazy but it makes more sense than the rags for gods sake

St. Louis hasn’t had a star center this century. He’d play with Tarasenko, and the two of them would probably be good for 75+ goals combined. Blues have a top 3, if not the best prospect pool in the league. Not to mention, they shipped out their #1 C at the deadline. Toronto makes sense, Buffalo maybe, but it would be ridiculous for St. Louis to not be in the conversation.

By the way, Toronto fans, JT has about as much desire to play there as Stamkos and Gretzky and Lindros and Fill In The Blank; at least not until they are close to 40!
I personally spoke to a friend of mine who is cousins of one of JT's high school teachers and he was told by a very close friend of JT's agent's assistant that there is a very good chance that JT will resign with the Islanders on a long term contract, or not.
