Murphy and Gusto though got away with some mental positioning errors, I really hope they improve on that

That is exactly how i used to coach kids to shoot when they have time to pick a spot. A good goalie watches your eyes, so if you look where you are aiming he has an advantage. But if you stare into the goalie's eyes and shoot to barely miss him the goalie has to think before he reacts. Hit your spot you score. Shootouts too. Kids tournaments usually use shootouts if tied due to ice time restrictions so tournaments have been doing shootouts a lot longer than the NHL.
