Among many others, Seabrook with an embarrassing performance. - kwolf68
So the Captain fights Kessler and the bench gives him the Stare into Space reception.

the probability of this team playing well 2 games in a row let alone win 2 in a row is well under 50% for the remainder of the year
allowed 16 goals the last 3 games: turnovers, poor defensive coverage, poor clears, on and on...and when they do play decent the goalies give it away or they can't score |

Yea today was especially bad. I have to say Jurco and Duclair looked decent. I still can't believe how atrocious Seabs has become. Turning the wrong way on pivots, looking like a pylon against Getlzlaf, totally unaware of his weakside, etc...Seabrook has to have something wrong with him...he should not be taking NHL shifts at this point. |

Anyone else get the feeling Saad really doesn’t want to be on this team. I don’t think he wanted to come back at all. |

And when some of us talk about adding more toughness and "take no bs" players, there are some on this board who treat us as Neanderthals. How many teams in this league would watch their best players having to fight without any consequences for the other team? Further, how many would allow this to happen in a game they are probably losing anyway?
And then there are those who would trade away AA and Murphy. Great idea -make this team a totally perimeter team. |

There is absolutely no way either Q or Bowman should be back. I didn't watch today's game. If I didn't watch (by choice), the viewership of Hawks games must be nose diving. This team is an absolute trainwreck 100% of the blame on Stan Bowman. Awful contracts to veterans, awful trades, and poor drafting on defense. Bowman needs to be fired, yesterday. |

He actually avoided the wrist shot on the PK, that's why Oilers got rid of him, not tough enough - BetweenTheDots
Dots he is awful. He hides from everything combined with horrid give-always - he should never appear in a Hawks’ uniform again. |

I don't agree with that at all. Saad had a great preseason and started the season with a hat trick. Who knows what's happened after that but based on many opinions over the past few months, I believe that it has something to do with the conflicts above.....that being the leadership group of Bowman, Quenneville, and Captain Toews.
I'd love for all 3 of those to be gone if I had my wish......and they can take Keith, Seabrook, and Kane with them too.
A total change in culture has to be brought in. This NO CHECK Blackhawk hockey must go.
I don't expect to see a Stanley Cup run again until NEW blood is brought in.

He's not alone in that regard.
Would not at all be surprised that there is more than a little dissension in that locker room. In the past, Q's treatment of certain guys versus the "core" might not have been a problem -- when you are winning, heading to the playoffs, lots of stuff can be overlooked.
But you've got guys pulling down huge coin -- not pulling their weight and if anything, dragging down the club. Lots of young guys making 1/5 to 1/10 the dinero of the "core" getting the "bench treatment" by Q while allowing those core players to make the same (or worse) mistakes but see no consequence from it. Again, when you are winning, likely doesn't matter but when you are losing and the young guys are looking up to these guys making all the $ with their names on the Cup, many of whom either don't care or if they do, have fallen so hard so fast that they can't ever be expected to play to that level again.
I don't think this mess is something that can be fixed with 2 picks in the 1st round, regardless of who we get. So much else appears to be wrong.
I expect a whole bunch more of these games by season's end, which cannot come soon enough. Can't wait to hear the cleaning-out-the-locker quotes from the likes of Keith, Seabrook, Toews and Saad. IMO, the ONLY core guy that has come close to actually being worthy of "core" is Kane. Really just a very sad finish to an awful season. |

You right and I agree with you regarding the play of many of the so called leaders. Burish touched on the subject of dissension in the locker room which further points to maybe issues amongst them in the locker room. Especially how they all reacted towards Toews coming to the bench after having that fight with Kessler. Phuck that this team stopped playing for Q they all stopped playing for each other which is far more concerning |

On a positive note, it is interesting to hear the comments from opposition broadcasting crews about the play and potential of Schmaltz. Count me as one not in favour when we passed on Fabbri and traded up to get Schmaltz in his draft year. I am happily eating crow on that one. |

If you didn't hear Chris Bodin reminicing with Tr Murray on the post game about the original The Chicago Six, below is some information about the former Blackhawk and Bears band.
This is from the internet, a 2013 Dailky Herald story:
In the beginning, the Chicago 6 consiusted of three Bears -- Hampton, Walter Payton anbd Dave Duerson -- and three Chicago Blackhawks -- Troy Murray, Gary Nylund, and Curt Fraser. The band played its first shoiw on Dec 10, 1987, in front of a sold- out UIC Pavillion.
Hampton played bass, Payton was on the drums, Fraser and Nylund played guitar, and Murray was on the saxophone. They sharrd singing duties and covered a number of different rick artists. The band played on and off during the offseason for the next couple of years, during which time Wilson replaced Murray on sax
I read where the band was resurrected recently. Hamoton, Wilson and McMichael are behind the recreated band. In the post game Bodin referenced a WGN staffer who had inputted the "Ask Tr Murray," which is a between periods feature Bodin brought to the post game this one time. |
