I don’t think he is doing anything to be as ugly as he can. Think he is just being himself. - Spec41971
He wouldn’t be “just being himself” if he wasn’t crazy wealthy.

I would have benched Duclair after that. Terrible and lazy effort.
Q seems to have lost his desire to punish guys lately. Just seems to be rolling lines and gping through the motions. - Justin Lowe
NO heart out there. Ducks are standing in front of the net taking multiple shots and no one is clearing them out. Everyone going through the motions..... |

Probably not. |

I'm watching the Anaheim feed, and these announcers seem to be stunned by how easy it is to hang out in the Chicago crease without getting touched. - Dieselhead
I am watching the same feed and was about to make the same post. They basically were mocking our defence with statements like "you can hang in the crease and no one will lay a hand on you".
EDIT: Bowman "we want to be tougher to play against" |

John Dietz
@johndietzdh
If Q is consistent -- like he says his players should be -- Anthony Duclair should be stapled to the bench for the rest of this period for that awful, undisciplined penalty that just led to an Anaheim PP goal.
Unusual to see Dietz (a big Q cheerleader) call him out, but not the first time in the past week or so. - pdx2ord
And he's 100% right in calling Q out. Pat Boyle, Jamal Mayers and even Steve Konroyd, who usually puts a positive spin on everything, basically called Q out on that as well. I'm tired of Q pulling this kind of garbage. Duncan Keith was awful yesterday with 2 brutal turnovers. Never missed a shift. Duclair with an awful penalty. Didn't miss a shift. Oesterle with zero effort on the Perry goal. Didn't miss a shift. Yet guys like Hartman, Kempny and a few others sat for far less egregious errors. It's a joke. A thank him for his role in the 3 Stanley Cups this team won, but it's time to go in a different direction at HC. |

Not a practical approach at all. Unless this team can recharge its roster with transformational young ELC talent, they are doomed to repeat what happened this year for a long time coming - an aging core matched with middling to lower tier players that will NEVER be a cup contender no matter how hard they try to “figure it out.”
#embracethetank - Return of the Roar
Yup take a good look at that roster and that aging core with full NMCs. This is going to be the way it is for a while and how bout that defense. With little cap flexibility Stan is forced to try to find more diamonds in the rough say overpaying Panik and when that tanks Stan trades him for the flavor of the month in Anthony "Hands of Stone" DuClair...Do you really entrust Bowman do rebuild this roster - Yikes Scooby... |

The Anaheim feed should be more concerned their arena looks a lot like like Florida’s. Loads of empty seats.

Can you imagine what the attendance in arenas like theirs would be like if it were not for all the Hawk fans in attendance? |

this calif 3 game trip is ending like it began...a blow out...
season long defensive and puck possession trends kill'em again |

Oesterle is utterly useless in his own end. If this team's brass really thinks he's going to be one of their top six defenseman, let alone one of their top 4, then I'm really concerned with the decision making of this team moving forward

Embarassing.
Too bad we had that meaningless win yesterday. |

Scary - the Hawks still travel well but those travelling fans deserve to see better than what Duclair, Oesterle and certain others have shown. |

They’re actually at a respectable 96.4% of capacity for the season - 16,557 per game. |

Really want into that top 5 area. We need D. I think the NHL needs a new stat for the Hawks because they are #1 in the DGAF category. |

You know the Hawks have been playing time and space defense for all these years. For years personally always liked the man to man defense and have always felt its an effective defense and the Hawks could always over come it. I wish the Hawks defense would lean more towards that, hard for a player to make a play when you have a defender attached to his hip and always positioned between player and the goalie. There is so much space on the ice for the opponent the way we play now. One of the biggest problems why Q's defense struggles now is they can't block a shot. |

Encouraging thing I see which isn't much, Dahlstrom looks like he can skate at this level, unlike Murphy |
