Will they play Hagelin with Brassard to see if they still have the chemistry that torched the Pens in the past? - Doogs
Maybe on the PK? Haggo has been too good for Geno. |

You can replace Rowney with Simon/Sprong and make that roster gold. - eNDSo
I wasn't even thinking of those two. I actually just shed a tear with that idea. Would it be crazy to even consider Sprong up there with Crosby, Hornqvist with Malkin, and Rusty going to the "4th" line?
If Rust's chemistry with Malkin is good could you potentially send Hornqvist to the 4th line? Of is that blasphemy? |

Trying to understand what Vegas really gets out of this. Why do that much work to help Pitts out. We shall see in the future what kind of favor is in place. Great move by GMJR. - poisondhearts37
Vegas got Reeves and a 4th rounder for a virtual cap hit? They gave up nothing afaik.
Imagine if they get more opportunity to collect extra draft picks by spending cap space they weren't going to use, I bet they take it. Their owner is clearly the opposite of Ottawa's. Willing to spend money to bolster the team's assets. |

Total blasphemy. We all know Kane will be a penguin so save some room. |

I think you have to consider the idea of playing every center at least 15 minutes. And then playing the centers together a few shifts to get Malkin and Crosby up around the 18-20+ they deserve. Let whatever winger is feeling slow that night ride the bench for that. |

What does it take to make that happen? The sheer plethora of forward depth, at this point, makes this seem possible. I don't know if I like the idea of parting with any additional picks though. |

I wouldn't want Hagelin to leave Geno's LW right now. Those two have been on fire lately. |

I don’t reccommend changing anything other than pushing Sheehan back to center the 4th and moving Rowney either to the wing or dress #34 he kills penatlies and has a nice 4th line scoring punch. #lethallineup |

Why do I have a bad feeling about more trades?. I think it should be left alone now. - MattStrat

I gotta say.... As well as Rutherford did a couple of years ago with key trades during the season, he's out-done himself this year. Adding Sheahan, Oleksiak and Brassard while only giving up Cole, Archie and Wilson from the roster is F'n genius. |

Love this...
When asked why the Penguins went after Brassard, Rutherford deadpanned, “Why not? Have you seen him play?” |

I'm fine if JR doesn't go after another forward. I would like to see if he can get a defenseman. |

GMJR knows he needs another Dman.
It might be a 6/7th D, but that is really what the Pens need.
Pens are a much better team, we will see what happens! |

This is the best forward depth since 2013 I reckon. And Sully isn't going to Bylsma it all up.
ZAR - Crosby - Horny
Hagelin - Malkin - Rust
Guentzel - Brassard - Kessel
Simon - Sheahan - Sheary
vs
Dupuis - Crosby - Iginla
Kunitz - Malkin - Neal (when they were ridiculous)
Cooke - Jokinen - Kennedy
Morrow - Sutter- Bennett
Centre depth is definitely better, but man there were a lot of potential goals there in 2013 had Bylsma not Bylsma'd and Morrow not broken his knee. |

I doubt it. Probably 17-18 minutes for Sid and Geno, roughly 14-15 for Brassard, 9-12 for Sheahan which includes PK |

Seems like most aren’t too concerned about the gap in play between Hunwick and Cole. The trade is a huge win, no arguing that-
Just wish we didn’t have to create a hole to make it work. Like, why couldn’t Sheary have gone to Vegas with Vegas sending a pick to Ottawa? Cole, you’ll be missed |
|
|

I wonder if Chayka would be interested in a Sheary/Hunwick/Pick swap for Hjalmarsson. Wouldn’t be a high pick, but something. In my mind, something like that just send something us over the top |

Per Hockey-reference this season.
20:50 Crosby
18:49 Malkin
18:21 Brassard
14:51 Sheahan
71:71 minutes of centers on the ice.
I feel like those top 3 deserve to stay there, but it would be pretty strange to only play Sheahan 4 minutes a game. Means you should shift them together sometimes, unless you think Sheahan is worse than your bottom line wingers (and deserves 4 minutes per game). |

Well i don't think they'll play both ZAR and Hornqvist with Sid, seems stupid as both are pretty much doing the same thing.

I mean last year we won without Letang and Ron freaking Hainsey in the top pair lol. Sure would be nice to move hunwick for a better D though |

Add a D-man with prospect + pick and be done with it. No reason to spend much.
Sheary + 2nd for Kane should be a no brainer. |

Our version of Jacko haha
Pretty happy with the Brassard acquisition. Kane would be deadly!
Pack Sheary's ass and the pick to Buffalo already |
