I wouldnt blow your wad on carter hart at this point. I admit the kid looks great but lets not forget some other goalies that looked just as a great. For instance lets look at Canadas world junior all time goalie win leaders. Hart tied this record this past world juniors. Which looks great on the kid and is a great accomplishment.
But lets take a closer look at the other great nhl goalies that excelled at this level before him... Here are the other top 7 goalies in the top 8 with the most wins on junior hockeys highest level...Stephane Fiset, Jim Waite, Maxime Ouellett, Zachery Zucale, Jamie Storr, Marc Denis and Marc Andre Fleury.
Outside of Fleury who had a few great years as one of the top goalies in the nhl. The rest of the list are goalies that did nothing or became decent backups at best. We even had our own version of Carter Hart in Justin Pogge. He was our golden boy went 6 and 0 in the world juniors with the best GAA (1.00) of any of the top canadian goalies. We all know how his career turned out.
So the jury is still out on Mr. Hart I wouldnt put all your eggs in that basket just yet. It's nice to have a couple options around just in case. And at least Mzarek has proven he can play at high level when on his game. Im not saying the kid wont be great you might have the next Andrew Raycroft there when he bust out!
