Not exactly, but I am starting to think this way.
No reason Baptiste is not playing
No reason Antipin is not playing

Baptiste scores and gets benched.

- ImThatGuy

Strikes me that Bylsma had the exact same issue. I think they are just trying their best to avoid embarrassment.

Bailey/Baptise always played themselves down to the 4th line/press box
Risto/RoR play too much
Sam's invisible without Jack or on the PP
Gorges plays

I think he uses this lineup to avoid being blown out, rather than taking any risks to score more.

It's not exactly working out for Columbus very well.
- BeadyEyedDouche

Torts has always had a short shelf life. Teams (aside from Vancouver) rarely regretted hiring him. It was keeping him around after year 3 that was always the mistake. His message does ignite a locker room. The problem is it gets stale really quick.

He has a shelf life no doubt but he got his team to 108 points last season

Edit: Late

the last thing we need is another coach fired just to have another coach fired after a couple seasons

Find the Doug Pederson of the NHL.

Find the guy that is ultra progressive and breaks away from the norm.

Is it? or is Baptiste a bad defensive player that 2 straight coaches used very conservatively? It's not a coincidence.

The fans have already quit.

Season ticket turnover is going to be massive.
the arena is empty.

nothing from the Owners, who are ultimately responsible.

The NHL isn't ready for that yet.

The NFL barely is.

Baptise isnt here to play (frank)ing defense and we suck as it is, there's no harm in throwing him 12 minutes a night and no excuse to be burying him on the 4th line

Rob Ray: not a bad period for the Buffalo Sabres

Is he watching the same game as me? They're falling down more than a room full of toddlers FFS this guy's a complete jamoke.

Yes it is, you said it yourself.

These coaches are playing to not be embarrassed, how long did it take for Housely to change his system after realizing he doesn't have Nashville's blue line? 10 games

Yeah, but the fans will be back once they're good again. '02-'04 was bad. Then they get good and we're partying in the plaza

"The hockey world knows how I and the entire Buffalo Sabres organization feel about Lindy Ruff not only as a coach but also as a person," Pegula said in a statement released by the team. "His qualities have made this decision very difficult. I personally want Lindy to know that he can consider me a friend always."

This is the problem with the NHL/the Sabres.

Paul Hamilton just said "This is the exact period the Sabres needed, they shut the caps down, and didn't let them score, and kept things even"

So my theory is they don't want to get blown out.

Your's is that 2 straight GM's and 2 straight coaching staffs are stupid?

That's the problem with the Sabres.

Bunch of bandwagon fans.

At least the Bills fans are there no matter what.
