Leadership that everyone is saying we need.

Experience. Skill. Instantly upgrades both our top-6 forwards and top-3 defense.

Risto has peaked. ROR is ROR. We add by subtracting. Fans become interested next year simply because of P. Kane and the thought of him and Eichel playing together. Patty plays a safe game, his body isn't as worn down as other players his age. Keith would do wonders for a guy like McCabe, Guhle, Nelson, etc... More than what Risto has to offer.

Chicago throws in pick/prospect, we use that to fill a defensive zone faceoff role, dump Girgensons, Larsson in the offseason, call up some guys from Ra-cha-cha, Casey Middlestat skips the AHL and college next year and we don't miss either ROR or Risto.

Chicago gets younger, we get much needed experience and leadership. Win for both teams.

Edit: edited lol

LOL .... Kane comes here, signs a big contract and slides right into the suck. His production falls off a cliff, everyone wonders WTF and it's business as usual in Buffalo. The last thing the Sabres need is Kane ........ sheesh.

Has anyone heard anything about Victor Olofsson getting a contract with the Sabres? He looks like he could be a good scoring winger in the top 6, especially for a 7th round pick. How much longer do we have to sign him and what happens if we don't? I would hate to lose out on one of the few late round picks that actually has a chance to play, and possibly be real good, in the NHL. His goals and assists have been increasing each year and he has been playing in Sweden's top league the past few years. I think the guy at least deserves a chance to play in the AHL, especially with him only being 22 years old and has been dominating men at times in the SHL.
What do you guys think?

- Sabrehagan

He's not signed. Sabres hold his rights until 6/1.

I believe the plan was to bring Asplund over this year (also playing in Sweden)
With Olofsson having a pretty good year,
I’d assume they’d wanna bring him over as well

I saw VanHagar about 12, 13 years ago here in Buffalo. Sammy was a good 30, 40lbs overweight and he spent half the show flogging his CaboWabo tequila. Eddie and the uglier one got old real fast.

All in all really damn expensive($80 for a side on view 100 level almost in the opposite corner from the stage) for a so-so show.

That seems about right, maybe a little light on the Bills side, all these people talking at least 3 1sts for a top 5 pick are crazy.

For the Rams to move from 15 to 1...
-two 1sts
-two 2nds
-two 3rds
and they got back a 4th & 6th (whatever)
*that was to move up 14 spots

For the Eagles to move from ONLY 8 to 2...
-two 1sts
-a 2nd
-a 3rd
they also swapped 4ths
*that was to move up 6 spots

Now i know we aren’t moving up to 1 or 2
but moving up 16 spots, it’s gonna cost
and the price could be inflated bc of the QBs
Also, others could be trying to move up
That could also up the price

Idk what it’s gonna be...
but it’ll be A LOT

Moving up to 1 or 2 costs a hell of a lot more than moving up to 5. Plus, these guys aren't as hyped as Goff and Wentz, so the inherent value is a bit lower as well. 21, 22, and 56 is plenty to move up to 5.

Also, they're known picks, not next year's or the year after that like the Rams and Eagles did.

U may be right, i hope u are!
But i wouldn’t be surprised if it costs more

Rosen & Darnold are easily as highly thought of as Wentz & Goff

For that reason, 5 & 6 just might be 1 & 2
Plus, like i said before...
we might be bidding against others trying to move up
That could also jack up the price

No, no.
To properly determine the value, one has to look at the play of the players over say the last 4-5 games.
Pay no attenti9n to competitive bidders.
(Couldn’t resist)

I think you are right, a number of teams have varying needs for a QB. There is likely to be a few who will try to trade up, thereby increasing the cost to do so.

The Bills finally should have the ammo to do so, even into 2nd if need be.
In my scenario, they make two trades to accomplish that, and include roster player Cordy Glenn. They use a combination of a 1st, 2nd and a later pick to get to 10sh
Then use the other 1st, Glenn and a later pick to get to 2sh.
Giants need OL help and I assume Glenn would have value as a starting player at the coveted LT position.

For me, these moves are even more important than what happens at the tdl. JBotts seems to know what he's doing but if Olofsson and/or Asplund don't stay Sabres' property then my faith in him will be dead.

With the team playing poorly, it certainly would cause me to think about my options if I were a player with alternatives.
Means JBotts has to work a bit harder in all things, TD deals, signing their own, getting desireable FA’s.
He has a tougher job to be sure.
I expect a loss or two along the way, hopefully very short lived and it is most heavily felt with UFA signings rather than signing their own property..
