We woukd have had to give up a 4th round pick. Way too steep. - Cptmjl
Good for Garth for standing his ground.
Not that I wanted Mrazek, but it would be nice for Garth to get someone. |

Listen at this point no trade is fixing this roster. It’s been flawed for years. 12 years later.....where’s the franchise dman or goaltender? Most teams build from the goaltender out. Snows built down the middle for 12 years. |

No trades will not fix the roster either. Garth sitting on his hands should not be an option at this point. This is not a rebuilding year with JT locked up long term. |

This team feels like when i was a kid at the movies and paid $7 for milk duds only to open the box and find 5 pieces. That feeling of being taken....
How anyone can rationalize having Snow at this point is like looking you in the eye and swearing the sun is purple. |

He absolutely shouldn't be in the rental market, but if he sees an opportunity out there for a guy with term or a young guy on an expiring RFA deal then he should jump on it, even if that means taking something away from the current roster. I'd rather throw in the towel on this season and tell Johnny "listen this year didn't work out, but we just added (player x) and will be looking to also firm up (whatever)". I would hope that these idiots would have already conveyed some sort of plan to him other than "sorry that de Haan got hurt but we think we're doing a good job" |

Even if Garth thinks he is totally safe, the worse thing he can do is not make any moves. Do not waste the season the top 6 is having. If JT walks, at least Garth can say he made moves and did not just sit on his hands. I would not mind rentals as long as they did not cost #1 picks.

He didn't say he wouldn't move them for an impact player with term. Now oel or karrelson would be great but I think a gudbranson type is more realistic |

Gudbranson is working on an extension, doesn't look like they're trading him. I'd say we should go after Tanev if they are resigning Gudbranson, but he's got a busted leg and is out until after the trade deadline. Maybe at the draft. He'd be an upgrade replacement for de Haan, is signed for two more years and doesn't make that much more the Cal does right now. |

No doubt but making moves at the deadline is the worst possible value you can get if you’re a buyer.

Yeah I'm not saying he needs to do something now, but getting out ahead of the deadline a little (that window is closing) sometimes prevents the madness of deadline day from driving up the price of players. Flyers basically just got Mrazek for free. That's no prize to write home about but they added, at worst, an average goaltender for almost nothing. If he can rediscover his game a little in a new home, that could be a massive steal for PHI.
He does, at some point, need to do something though. |

Haven't seen him much but we need a solid d man on this team similar to what dehaan brought. I think jt waits to see what snow does at trade deadline f.a. and draft then decides what to do. I believe he wants to stay here and Garth just needs to show him something |

Tanev is similar to de Haan. No offense at all, but very solid defensively. Not sure how his transition game is, but he can definitely defend. |

I don’t disagree, I’m just not confident in his ability to manage these assets. |

Wonder if de Haan comes back to the Isles on a one year deal? Hard for him to cash in based on this year. |

Nothing is going to change until they get rid of everybody and bring in a staff that stresses the importance of D. It's unwatchable to be honest. No way a team with this kind of offense should miss the playoffs. Look at the Devils. They are winning with a backup goalie and a no name defense. It's a facking joke what we have to watch every game. |

I mean the NHL Network guys were cracking up at the Hickey turnover. I'm not even joking. Facking embarrassment. Hey at least Ledecky was on his handshake tour again |

Exactly right Vukota! Doug and his staff of 100 never talks about defense and the real issues with this team. |

I would've taken a show with Mzarek he has shown flashes if being real good and is an rfa. For a fourth round pick when we're going to be looking for goaltending to me it's kind of a no brainer. |

That turnover was just brutal. Ledecky only knows about Belmont and could care less about anything else with the team. |

Let's be honest unless you're bringing in an elite goaltender to play behind this joke of a team you're just wasting your time. Mzarek isn't getting us past Tampa or Boston. Plus can you imagine getting swept by the Bruins with half the barc being filled with Bruins fans? Fack that. I'd rather not make the playoffs |

It's good but he's got to work on his passing. He consistently clears the puck safely instead of giving it to opposing forwards in the slot. That kind of stuff isn't going to fly here. |
