Dion Phaneuf was traded mid-game by the Ottawa Senators to the Los Angeles Kings. Guess who the Penguins play Thursday?
Going to get turn-stilled again by Malkin |

His name does have "son" in it, do we have a Gudbran in our history so we can call him the second coming?? - mgriffen
1) I can't believe the Leafs traded Clarkson
2) I can't believe the Leafs were able to trade Phaneuf and not retain salary
3) I can't believe the Canucks re-upped Benning (but I love it) |

Yes I know. Valid point you make. I guess we wait and see if Lou does anything. I’m rather excited-hopeful leafs will become better - BreathLeafs2015
This isn't the year they win the cup.
But I think the Leafs ARE better. Dermott and Kapanen as regular contributors improves the line-up considerably. They roll out speed and opportunity far more frequently with the more balanced lines and back-end puck movement.
Realistically, the improvement is made in the Polak/Carrick spot. In that specific 5/6 role what do you get to improve them that makes a significant difference, and what do you pay for it?
Looking at it from a player who plays a significant role perspective, we've all been unimpressed with Bozak this year, but who do you upgrade him with that's available, and what does it cost to do so? |

Boone Jenner would be a good fit here, but he is an RFA after this year.. Wouldn't commit too much term and $$ to him |

This is who should get JVR’s spot
11 Andreas Johnsson L games44 goals22 assists 20 points42 born1994-11-21 22 Gavle, Sweden
23 years old
Move jvr out now. Babcock is all about work ethic-compete etc. Our young players MUST grow in the midst of good pros that bring it every night. JVR DOES NOT
get rid of him and get pick and prospects or compete player. Next to go Bozak. Finish creating the new culture in leaf land. Salute gate players should go |

I recall seeing him play a few times. He has speed. Decent hands. He's a lot younger (meaning why would Clb want to trade him yet?). But I don't think he's going to bring anything better than Bozak. His advanced numbers suck, and his actual numbers aren't much better. |

Whoever thinks that Lucic is going to be traded for Marner can take their Richard and shove it up their own ass.
Out of all the things that have a 100% chance to pass (such as the Leafs getting eliminated in the 1st round), Lucic never getting traded for Marner is the one that has the most 100% chance to pass. |

I’ll be honest. IMHO leafs should clean house from JVR and BOZAK and move on with replacement parts what ever that may be. Keep Komarov for bite size two year contract because he does work hard especially in playoffs. My opinion is NOT popular but I can handle criticism. Leafs need to be bold and take a risk and try to make this team better with more competitive parts!!! |
