So much for not criticizing the poster. Have a nice day. And , FWIW, I think you are dead wrong. Giving your team a better chance to make the playoffs and perhaps win a round or even 2 with a little luck is easily worth parting with a 2nd round pick when you are holding 2 firsts, at least one pick in every other round, and are as deep with prospects as the Flyers are right now. - BiggE
Looking at the types of goalies that got traded for a 2nd rounder guys like Martin Jones I wouldn't be trading a 2nd for an older guy. Third rounder for a guy like lehner I'm all in. But if it's a 2nd I want it to be a young guy we could pair with hart in the future |

Lehner have a ton of upside compared to most of or all of the flyers goalies since Hex jumped off. |

Elliott has played in over 50 games once in his career and that was back in 09. He s at 41 games right now. They need a goalie to play a half a season with him, right now who in the organization is going to do that? The core is playing great they deserve better then an AHL goalie one more Neuvy injury from being the guy. |

Lehner costs more than a 3rd for sure. A 3rd gets you a team's good backup who is stuck behind a workhorse. And that's fine, but prices are probably astronomical for anyone getting the lion's share of starts no matter how bad the goalie or team is |

Agreed in principle, but Lehner is a young guy who I’d happily swap a 2nd for.

Having more upside than neuvirth or Lyons doesn't mean in giving up a 2nd for him. They could have a 3rd and a low end prospect like bardreau that would be my best offer. |

Lehner is an RFA after this season, I wonder how much leverage Buffalo would have in negotiations. I would think with all the problems in Buffalo if they could solidfy goalie they would do it. I kind of think Lehner might be in the category we have an asset, but we really don't want long term. I could be wrong.

I highly doubt anyone is giving Buffalo a 1st for him, so, unless they are going to re-sign him, a 2nd is probably the best they are going to get. |

As a comparison, Homer traded Buffalo a 2nd for Biron. I agree no one is giving them a 1st for Lehner. They probably have little confidence Neuvy is going to stay healthy enough or play goo enough to string together 10 straight games. Hexy needs to do something. |

It seems that every time I give him a break, he goes and does something like this and it just makes me disregard any good points he may make. |

Re: Jimmy Howard
He has a year left in his deal so I don't see that happening as Elliott and Neuvy both have a year remaining on their deals also.
Expiring UFA Goalies (some of these teams are playoff bound mind you so a few of these names probably aren't available)

Lehner. God no. The guy is Cechmanek crazy. Who knows what he would do behind a team that plays defense, but he is in no way someone I would trade assets for.
There are a couple guys I would trade for but I wouldn't give up much at all. Halak is still someone I really like. Craig Andersons contract is a real shame because he would've been a great target |

Detroit needs to rebuild and they are in cap hell. They can’t afford to re-sign Mrazek so he may be more available than many think. |

They also exposed him to the expansion draft so I don't think he's in their long term plans as much as others do. |

Exactly. I think a 3rd and a guy like Stolarz would probably land him. |
