Sanheim?!?!
My god I want to burn you haha - flyer_nutter
I think Morin brings an element that they are lacking at both the NHL and developmental level. Sanhiem is probably the stronger prospect but I feel like it would be less of a blow to our system and would probably yield a better return than Morin anyway. |

Not at all. I’d have no problem moving any picks other than firsts, any goal prospect other than Hart, and guys like Morin, Vecchione, NAK, and any forward prospects in the NCAA or Junior other than Frost or Rubtsov.
I just don’t want to give up potential impact players for a short term fix that isn’t going to magically make this team a legit Cup contender. |

Sanheim certainly has more value because his ceiling is top pair, that s why he is off limits. I don't think less of him as a prospect because the organization couldn't get on the same page how to develop him this year.

Why can't we bring up Tokarski instead of Lyon? At least he has had NHL games under his belt. May be a bit more reliable and calming presence in net or on the bench. |

They have no one playing pro right now that won’t get badly exposed at the NHL level. They need to make a deal. They owe it to guys like Provy, Coots, Giroux, Ghost, Jake and TK who are playing their tails off right now. Dangle a 2nd or 3rd and bring in a solid goalie to pair with Neuvirth. |

Agree w everything you wrote BiggE, except for Morin. I want to keep him and see if he can develop into the shut down, crease clearing, opponent anxiety player he has the chance to be. I’m hoping he ends up like Chara in Boston. Other than that, thumbs up on your trade assessment.

Thing is, most teams will struggle if their starting goalie is out for an extended time.
Backups are so for a reason. Just have to hope it’s a quick heal.
What’s annoying, and yeah yeah heresay. All the signs of Elliot maybe being rushed back, and not eased in - but given a heavy workload are pretty clear.
Will say tonight would have been a good game for Neuvirth to start to begin with.
Hak does love to ride his goalies into the ground. Again, hope it’s a minor injury to Elliot. - flyer_nutter
What's more annoying is the same tired and repeatable narratives that the Flyers screwed up and rushed a player and that's why he got hurt. The Flyers screwed up again. |

I really think Mrazek could be the guy. Probably isn't going to cost anything more than a 3rd at the very most. More likely a 4th I'd imagine. |

Fair enough and I certainly wouldn’t part with Morin lightly. I really think, assuming Elliott is going to be out long term, that they can get a solid goalie for a 2nd rounder. Since they’d still have two firsts, a 3rd and 2 fourths, it’s a deal I’d make.
I’d also try to package Gudas +, to get a better Dman. |

Detroit is pinning him as the goalie of the future there. Howard is like 35- twilight of his career. Already ceding starts to Mrazek who's been playing better than him. No way they give him up for a 3rd. |

What's Howard contract? I wouldn't mind him as a rental.
I would hope that we could package neuvirth plus a pick in the swap I wouldn't want us stuck with 3 goals with term next year. Lehner makes sense but sabres are off their rocker for asking prices I've heard about. So many flyers fans in Vegas I've already seen today going to suck if neuvirth can't compete |

No way should the Flyers give up a 2nd round pick for a goaltender regardless of what Elliott's prognosis is. That's absurd. This is not a contending team. Go with Neuvirth and get a decent veteran backup for far less that that and whatever happens, happens.

In the intermediate plan Lehner makes some sense if they are done with Neuvy. Doubtful they let Hart make the jump to the NHL next season and Elliott has a history of only playing up to 40 games. They cant rely on Stollie and Lyons is extremely risky. I can see why the move would be made. Neuvy would go before his next injury occurs. |

So much for not criticizing the poster. Have a nice day. And , FWIW, I think you are dead wrong. Giving your team a better chance to make the playoffs and perhaps win a round or even 2 with a little luck is easily worth parting with a 2nd round pick when you are holding 2 firsts, at least one pick in every other round, and are as deep with prospects as the Flyers are right now.
