This could be true. Their fans hate him but who knows how Babcock/Lou view him - Nucker101

we have a lot of depth at winger. he's just lost his job.
he's good at what he does, but not needed anymore.
i think the best fit will be in Arizona after we pay out his july bonus. they could use him to replace rinaldo. |

Not sure I’d be laughing. If Martin gets moved then Babcock is likely going to demand Gudbranson. And guess who you’ll be bidding against?
If the playoffs started today I’d put decent money on Boston. They’re like 59-19-9 since Cassidy became coach and are way tougher than TOR/TB/PIT. |

I agree. Rules change in the playoffs. They can score, defend and run you out of the building.
There’s a reason Babcock wants a tough dman |

Bergeron - Krejci are still a great 1-2 punch
Marchand/Pastrnak are studs
Backes is still solid, a great 3LC or a solid 2RW DeBrusk is playing well for them
McAvoy, Chara, Krug, Miller, McQuaid on the back end
Rask in net
If they add another forward for secondary scoring, they’ll be a nightmare |

i still think tampa is the team to beat. i think they will go balls out and will get karlsson or mcdonagh and Nick Rash. TB will be a very difficult team to beat. not the leafs year this year.
boston is a good team. they have a monster last ~35 days, so they may not be so healthy by the time playoffs start.
i could see snow wanting EG. if the price is more than leivo and a 2nd, hold on to martin until july and let the isles have EG. |

No.
By most metrics, he's been one of the worst for years. |

As usual there will be a number of really good players available at 32-40.
I just hope they continue to prioritize skill over intangibles with their high picks. |

Probably the last playoff team I’d expect to trade for him. |

They did that all last draft. Sometimes you need to grab a specialty |

Why not get a bit of both? They did it with Lind/Gadjovich/Gaudette
It’s been proven over and over again that guys who aren’t stars on their jr teams almost never become good NHL’ers, outside of a very few late bloomers, 4th liners and 6/7 dmen.
I can’t comment on the player you guys are discussing but I assume he can skate and move the puck if he’s ranked as a high 2nd round dman.
I’m just sick of wasting even late round picks on guys like Stewart/Gunnarsson/Petit/Cederholm/Etc
Just draft guys who actually have NHL skill/potential.
You can sign similar/better guys for free like Chatfield/Holm/MacEwen |
