Reinhart's mind is so sharp it pushed the puck outside the open net.

The replay showed it was a great save.

By the end of this month, the way things are trending, Lehner might be more of a hot commodity than Kane.

Well of course any team will try to buy as low as possible...
but if there’s a bunch of teams still interested, then his price will remain high
Unless ALL of them just decide to go another direction

I bet there’s GMs who were on the fence about Kane
I’d say it’s safe to assume this slump probably made them lose some interest

I’d also say that a GM who really wants Kane still knows he’s gonna have to give up a decent amount to get him

It’s not like he’s gonna now go for a 3rd & a “C” prospect

- jdfitz77

This mostly, not the 3rd and c prospect.

But the report from TSN's guy said that teams weren't willing to give up a 1st as part of the deal. I think that's what might have changed. Teams who were still doing their homework on kane and whether to give up a 1st as part of the deal are probably leaning towards no.

He had a wide open net, shot it at hutton's toe.

Gotta get that puck up

If a 1st and a prospect is still being offered by anyone, take it now, this is becoming a joke already.

Id try and sell high (relative) on okposo.

If McDonagh is too old for us then we should probably apply the same logic to okposo.

The efforts been there and he's regained his form for the most part but even if he didn't slump, we're still talking about a 30 year old winger with what 5 years left on his deal at 6 mil?

Teams that were on the fence were gonna get out of anyways though
So I’m not particularly worried about them dropping out
They were probably not legit players anyways

The bold is my point
Teams have known what Kane is now for a while
It’s not like he’s a brand new player to the league

If they really like him,
they aren’t gonna stop now

Of course, this streak doesn’t help his value
I just don’t think it hirts it as much as you’re saying

Sell all of them outside of Eichel, Middlestadt and Guhle.

I honestly don’t care about the rest whether they stay or go

There's no way we're ever going to know if this is true, even after the trade is eventually completed, as the only one who will know is the GMJB.

Of course, it won't stop anyone from attempting to infer.

Hopefully he gets hot the next few weeks and helps ease the doubt of some GMs

The bigger issue imo is that in the Venn diagram of teams interested in kane and teams with assets we'd want there's maybe 2 teams.

San Jose has no first, Pittsburgh is unlikely to move theirs after 3 years of no first round picks, Blues are looking for controllable players...

U really think a GM who has years of footage on Lehner will suddenly now think he’s the answer bc of a few good games?

These hot & cold streaks players have only serve to strengthen their views

What I’m saying...
a GM who doesn’t think Lehner is a good goalie isn’t changing his mind
a GM who does think he’s a good goalie is reassured by this stretch

And it’s the same with Kane,
and every other player

- jdfitz77

I think you have explained your point well, I just do not agree with it.

The ufa guys and to some degree rfa's that are traded for at the deadliine need to be hot to add value.

Whether it's a small increase in value.

Why would a team want a guy (kane) whos putting up 4th liner points the last half of the season?

Kanes value absolutely isn't UP

Lehners value is not the same as 4 games ago. He has played well enough to have some gms feel like hes an upgrade to their current goalie.
Maybe a very small increase in value, but some increase

Still waiting to hear who you’d have put out there for a D Zone faceoff instead of O’Reilly

Also...
who won ALL 3 offensive zone faceoffs for us on the PP & at the end of the game?

Sucks we couldn’t tie it
But winning those draws gave us a better chance to

Or would it have been better if we lost those faceoffs?

By slump you mean recove from whatever happened to him to end last season and the offseason, right, as that's a very real probability of why he wasn't playing like he normally does to start the season.

I dont know if thats what was holding him back, hence generic word "slump"

But thats my point, either way we're still talking about a 30 year old winger with 5 years after this at 6 mil.

We should (rightfully) avoid mcdonagh for timeline/age reasons but keep okposo?

Edit: talk about missing the point though lol

Jack Roslovic scores his 2nd.

Colin White with an assist.

JT Compher had an OT winner the other day.

It’s getting uglier

- sbroads24

It's only "getting uglier" for those who still care at all about what happened by a former GM. None of that will help the team going forward unless GMJB is also a dope.
