The farm is very weak right now but we should finally have some legit prospects in Utica next season. - CanuckDon
I looked back at canuck's farm team success. If you consider making playoffs a sign of success then our farm teams, since 2000, have make playoff appearances 11 or 12 times out of the last 17 seasons.
I think generally speaking, our farm teams haven't been a problem in comparison to other AHL affiliates. |

I feel like I say that every year as I was expecting names like Virtanen, McCann, Boeser, Goldobin, Dahlen, Tryamkin, Stecher, Hutton etc. to all be there even if only for small stints and we ended up with only Goldobin and Jake.
 - belcherbd
true....hopefully next year they have Dahlen, Gadj and Lind. Juolevi and Gaudette are question marks. I think Petterson plays in Van. |

Will Pouliot, Stetcher, Virtanen and Goldobin clear waivers? |

Canucks defense would be a mess without Tanev so it’d take an overpayment.
Edler isn’t getting any younger/better and the other vet dmen have played like trash. - Nucker101
i guess that's fine if you think he re-signs.
if he wants out, you probably get 3 good pieces this year.
next year's tdl return will probably be a 1st, conditional 2nd and a josh leivo type 'prospect'. |

They are a team that should offer big for Tanev IMO. Foote + 1st for Tanev and they will be the big favorites to win it all. - Retinalz
I'm not really high on foote but they do have lots of interesting prospects as well, both Howden and Hajek look really good too. |

I think his value will still be high next year, it’s usually during the last year where the value dips most.
I’d prefer to keep him, this defense will suck even more without him and the team will too, the young forwards will be handicapped by a sh!t defense |

I meant our legit prospect depth is weak in Utica...not necessarily the team. They have some big salaries on the farm |

Meh, I honestly don’t think he’d much different than our other young dmen on the roster. Guess it woulda saved trading for DP though. - Nucker101
I think his shot alone is an upgrade on any of our D. |

Edler’s in that boat. Wouldn’t be surprised if his name starts to come up a lot more at the draft and during the 18/19 season. |

Farm team's success isn't based off of making the playoffs, it's in producing players and our hasn't done that since the moose were around. |

This.
Our AHL teams have always had solid vets, but not many actual legit prospects. |

I think Pettersson will get a chance but my guess is Gaudette plays more games in the NHL next year. |
