No need to be suspicious or skeptical, these guys are the future, I'm actually surprised that they even needed any developing in Utica...

Especially since Cullseems to be another WD-type in terms of how positive he is. Every quote I’ve seen from him so far has been talking about how good Player X is lol
- Nucker101

I think it was Ryan Johnson but regardless, the organization isn't going to point out how inept they are at developing.

Didn’t Edmonton already try doing that and we all mocked them for it?
- Nucker101

Oilers drafted so high so often & later picks were so crappy it happened. Myself being a trade down guy when opportunity is there would’ve helped them in a couple drafts. Btw that does not mean every draft trading down makes sense. What i do mean is what nearly happened with VGK last draft is good to have options ready if advantageous.

Have the leafs sold the farm for Tanev yet?

I want like two first rounders for him. No, five.

Doesn't seem like a very effective method of judging success to me.

Where are you seeing ice time? I didn't think the AHL records that and can't find any other site that lists it?

according to Utica's GM

I think MacEwan makes the NHL as a bottom 6. He is progressing well and is a late bloomer. Brisebois has a decent shot at making it as well. Sautner and Chatfield are long shots.
- CanuckDon

I haven't watched any Utica games this year, so you could very well be right as I've only been going off the Utica thread at HF.
MacEwan has been getting good reviews from there for sure.

The farm is very weak right now but we should finally have some legit prospects in Utica next season.

Yeah, I like following that thread since there’s actual Comet fans there that watch/attend almost every game.

None of the posters here do that so we can only go off of what little we’ve seen and read about the prospects.

Its tampa's year in the east.

Especially if they use their deadline cap space well.

- Tumbleweed

They are a team that should offer big for Tanev IMO. Foote + 1st for Tanev and they will be the big favorites to win it all.

idk if yzerman does that overpay, but he is potentially buying a cup so it could be worth it.

Canucks defense would be a mess without Tanev so it’d take an overpayment.

Edler isn’t getting any younger/better and the other vet dmen have played like trash.

I feel like I say that every year as I was expecting names like Virtanen, McCann, Boeser, Goldobin, Dahlen, Tryamkin, Stecher, Hutton etc. to all be there even if only for small stints and we ended up with only Goldobin and Jake.

I had Liljegren at 8 to Buffalo. I also really thought Van was going to go with Glass. I'm so glad they went with EP.

This is why you make your own draft on www.draftsite.com. They store them for a few years.

- manvanfan

Looking at 2014 redraft they have Forsling going top 15

In a redraft, 5 of the guys we drafted go first round. and only two of them were from the first round.

Meh, I honestly don’t think he’d much different than our other young dmen on the roster. Guess it woulda saved trading for DP though.

Only reason to trade Tanev is just that.
If not the hole created would be a huge setback that could take years to climb out of.

Demko and Virtanen crack the first round.
