Canucks defense would be a mess without Tanev so it’d take an overpayment.

Edler isn’t getting any younger/better and the other vet dmen have played like trash.

- Nucker101

I'm way behind here. How is Foote's foot speed? No pun intended. Edler has actually been good this year. Still makes Edler gaffs but still been solid. We can't afford to move Tanev. Just can't. unless some GM goes Chiapet on us and unloads a ransom, we keep him.

That was fun. Looking back at all our reactions to the EP pick. More ppl upset than happy. Wonder how they are feeling now?
- storm88

I was pissed at the EP pick. As of now I was wrong. See how it pans out.

Foote could be the next Griffin Reinhart.

Foot speed seems to be biggest issue.

Carl Neill playing in the CIS now is thinking wow I should be in the Norris discussion right now.

His defence isn't good sounds better then his defensive in no where to be found.

- manvanfan

Of course, you still have to be able to play the position, goes without saying. I don't know much about Brassard but they shouldn't be kicking any kid that can score out the door anytime soon until they've had a good look at him.

Neill obviously didn't make an impression or maybe they aren't very good at judging and developing that skill-set?

Jordan had no problem scoring. They seem to be higher on Brisebois, and Chatfield.

I don't know what Van has planned for Brassard. Maybe they view him as a PP RH specialist and see if he can play better D. Either way right now his defence sucks.

Entering tonight, the Canucks had outscored the opposition 52-50 at 5v5 with Horvat in the lineup. Been outscored 49-26 at 5v5 when he's not.

Subban wasn't big enough to defend, that's why I said "as long as he's big". A big guy can build strength and win battles on the wall at least. Stechers biggest issue, he can't.

Wow sad news

"Sad, sad story. Reports out of Sweden say Robert Larsson has died while visiting his son, Adam, in Edmonton.

Robert Larsson was only 50. Flags are flying at half-mast in Skelleftea. Condolences to Adam and his family:"

Ya there's small guys for sure who can play but Nashville has a lot more horses at forward and defence than the Canucks do with Stecher. That protects a small man, same with Krug in Boston.

He's a good young player for sure, his foot speed is so much better now, it's amazing how he's improved it.

He has worked hard on that aspect for sure.
Hopefully he introduces Brock to his skating coach.

Also, Jared Spurgeon is another small defenseman doing well.

Yes Brock would be do well picking up a step or two, he'd be that much better, although a lot of his goals are just being in the right spot at the right time. He reads the play so well and hit those soft spots.
