My take on Liljegrin was very early on. As the season progressed i saw other players i saw as better & then need entered hence Makar. As it looked like we were in line for top 3 pick before before the lottery dropped us i wanted Makar most then Mittelstadt due to C being important once D is not good enough. Another poster opened my eyes to EP & he was standing out more to me then. In the end it all meant Liljegrin would fall down the draft as he did & another team eg the Leafs would benefit. I also wanted us to get another 1st to give us more options as i also want for this next draft.

based on liljjegren's progression so far with the marlies, it looks like the leafs gotta a good player there too.

he's our top prospect at a position that we are thin at prospects in. he's a non-starter in a trade for most players imo.

I think MacEwan makes the NHL as a bottom 6. He is progressing well and is a late bloomer. Brisebois has a decent shot at making it as well. Sautner and Chatfield are long shots.

Thx for that. I to wasn’t on the Radmussen hype train over PP points. As for Glass i liked him but Casey stood out & idc if he was playing in high school. It was a risk that i thought was worth it. Glad in the end we took EP.

I haven’t watched the Comets much this year but in rookie camp I liked Mac and Chatfield, not the other 2 as much.

I’d say all of them have a less than a 50% chance of becoming career NHL regulars. Doesn’t mean none of them will, but it’s just reality.

We are still weak on D prospects & it won’t get fixed very soon. Gonna be painful & our hope lies in the F prospects hiding that weakness.

I dont really comment on my preferred draft players tho. Speed, smarts and skill have always superceded grit and toughness for me. 2017 draft was probably my most favorite canucks draft that i can remember.

The team is playing quite well right now and those 3 defensemen are all playing 20+ minutes. Has to mean something.
