I listened a bit during one of the first few days of free agency last summer to hear some updates/rooomers while driving.
the show with Don Taylor and the other 2 guys was basically just them talking about restaurants, food, old celebrities, personal stories about the 90’s with a little sports talk mixed in.
And then giggling like schoolgirls while doing the sponsor advertisements lol - Nucker101
Yeah still is the same format Donnie and The Moj |

He’s a calculated, well-spoken guy. He’ll say the right things. Not sure what else people expect him to say.
He’s not gonna go full Jared McCann, he’s smarter than that. |

I don't blame him, was just speaking Booner's comment. Completely agree, he probably rehearsed what he was going to say with his agent a week ago. |

I bet he is counting the days until he is moved. He can't believe how many grown up pussies on this team expect him to be his body guard |

The rumor that JV was an FA pick is believable. They tried to trae up for reinhart so it makes sense FA wanted the next local boy available.
In hindsight the mcCann pick wasn't the best, but it really wasn't a bad pick at the time. His redraft ranking is 25 OA. we took him 24th. Nobody thought Pastrnak would be so dominant at the time. - Retinalz
BS on Virtanen.
Benning was brought in specifically for his drafting acumen and you're telling the first thing the guy who hired him is going to do is ignore him....
For all the mistakes Benning has made since becoming a GM. He was well respected around the league and the Canucks were able to land a good GM candidate. It was Benning's pick.

I haven't heard the possibility explored that Guddy has no interest in re-signing. Has he come out and said he wants to re-sign and stay here? It seems like this is an assumption that is just accepted. If I were him, I'd probably want to move on... - boonerbuck
He was on yesterday's Global News.
He stared that he hopes to re-sign with Canucks, but, it is beyond his control if traded.(paraphrasing).
He wants to be here from what I heard.

That would imply the owner was putting a priority on rebuild? What about all the arguments about winning now, greed and playoffs aspirations these last few years? I don't disagree though... seems it was the only thing JB had going for him when he was hired.
I agree on JB's strength being mostly drafting... and not a guru either... if he didn't pull Boeser out of the late 1st round... and show us quality in the 5th with Gaudette/Tryamkin... I'd be extremely sour on the JV and OJ picks at this point. Jim's holding his own and I'm pretty happy we are not dealing with Nonis and Gillis' drafting skills(since we are solely putting drafting on the gm). |

Maybe so but he did draft all of them.

Thanks. Good work.
Says he hasn't talked with his agent about it yet. If he wants to stay, he has talked with his agent without a doubt. As usual... you never know one way or the other as cliche's pour out.
It's not hard to believe what he's saying about July 1st though.... he very well may want to avoid it. |

For all the complaining we do about the Canucks hiring former players in top jobs, having a quick look at some of Bruins staff and they have Neely at top, then Sweeney and also Bob Sweeney in the mix.

I think FA likely has put an emphasis on making the playoffs but he also was aware as everyone else was that the Canucks badly needed to restock the cupboards.
I don't know if Benning is a Guru either but he has done well with his picks outside of the top 10. EP obviously looks good and I think despite McCann struggles it was still a good pick.
