If EP remains a lightweight so what.
Iโd focus more on durability & being elusive before pegging him as injury prone or banged uo easily & often. Not putting words in your mouth but too much focus on weight for my liking. Looking around the league it proves my point. - Nighthawk
I haven't implied automatically waiting for him to beef up. If he struggles with it in the preseason and camp... then wait. If not, give him a shot if he earns it. They will be able to send him to Utica at any point.... which is also very physical but at a pace easier to adjust to especially with smaller ice surface.
I used McCann as a example because he had problem keeping weight on while in the line up... didn't take hits well.

They're just saying if you're looking for toughness in your third pairing then signing Bieksa for a million instead of wasting 5 million on Gudbranson. - LeftCoaster
Bad example then.
If they want Bo to be the new leader, bringing back another strong personality from the old guard who sucks harder than Gudbranson is not the answer.
They could have used a different playerโs name, or just bunched together a few UFAโs as the 2nd option without being specific.

You watch a lot of Petterssons highlights and theres not a chance in hell he'll get that amount of time and space in the NHL. - LeftCoaster
Could say the same about Boeser's NCAA tape IMO. Pettersson will be fine, just will have to modify his game for having less time/space. |

IMO yes, he won't have that much space out there and therefore much less time. Not taking away from how good I think he is, but he's going to have to make some adjustments. - LeftCoaster
Damn. I never considered that. |

People like to complain about the fans, but most of the media here are bigger idiots. - Nucker101
Agree.
1 question then.
Why do fans pay attention & validate their existence & jobs? ๐๐ |

Utica will likely be best for him. Get him around the NA game and start eating/training at higher level. |

No. If you can sign EG to 2 mil okay ( It will never happen) but don't bring back 36 yr old Bieksa |

Itโs true. But to be fair then I think you have to be less critical of the Virtanen/McCann picks since it couldโve been a similar situation.
who knows - Nucker101
The rumor that JV was an FA pick is believable. They tried to trae up for reinhart so it makes sense FA wanted the next local boy available.
In hindsight the mcCann pick wasn't the best, but it really wasn't a bad pick at the time. His redraft ranking is 25 OA. we took him 24th. Nobody thought Pastrnak would be so dominant at the time. |

All true & why it smells of FA meddling.
PR move to have local boys pranced around like the Habs penchant for Frenchies. |

I haven't heard the possibility explored that Guddy has no interest in re-signing. Has he come out and said he wants to re-sign and stay here? It seems like this is an assumption that is just accepted. If I were him, I'd probably want to move on...

I listened a bit during one of the first few days of free agency last summer to hear some updates/rooomers while driving.
the show with Don Taylor and the other 2 guys was basically just them talking about restaurants, food, old celebrities, personal stories about the 90โs with a little sports talk mixed in.
And then giggling like schoolgirls while doing the sponsor advertisements lol |

If EG is strong on loyalty & committed to be part of the answer here that shows character. IMO thats not the case for most players & I do ignore their rehearsed jockspeak crud. Time will tell. |

He was just interviewed and says he likes it here for various reasons, but blah blah money/agent. |
