I'd prefer to go out in the city if I'm visiting, but I'll probably double dip
Any more expensive around there than it is here (assuming you've been here?). At least the dollar is relatively strong right now. - RickJames77
You'll find that the prices on the menus are remarkably similar - so when you do the currency conversion, you'll be happy. |

For the area it's definitely my first pick of places to drink. I live a block from it.
Cheap drinking however brings me to Pacific Junction and Bettys but then your hiking a bit further.
Oh and if you want some dope BBQ then AAA isn't too far.
Edit: and they always stock a tap or two from by favorite brewery. If you go, make sure you try whatever they have from Bellwoods Brewery. - markmark
Is that located on Ossington just north of Argile?

how's a Polak for ya.
but me thinks he stays for a playoff run. - zazzle
Yeah, it's nice to know Holl is a possible option for a depth piece. It was one game but he wasn't overwhelmed.
I'll take Polak as number 7 and 8
I wouldn't be opposed to trading Sosh or Lievo for a depth d either though. |

Shall I assume that you will be here for the February 24th game?
Because weekend games are a little different than weekday games.
The ACC is very close to the financial district, so on weeknights, you'll be fighting against the after-work suits.
If it's a Saturday night, can I assume you'll want to eat near the arena, and maybe get a little "pre-game atmosphere" going?
There's a strip of bars just east of the ACC in a little pocket called "The Esplanade" - some standard chain bars and restaurants that are usually filled with fans (hint: don't go to the Old Spaghetti Factory - unless you also have 7 kids under the age of 10).
I think somebody else said the Keg. It's a chain steak house - I've never been in an Outback Steakhouse, but I'm guessing they would be similar (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). There's one in the Esplanade (always packed, you have to get there before 5 pm on game nights). But there's a better one on Bay Street - about 10 minutes north of the ACC - they redid the interior a few years back - it's really nice. I recommend eating in the bar area, and feeling the buzz. Or if you really want to go Keg-wild, you can go to the Keg Mansion - the restaurant inside an old mansion on Jarvis Street. You can then take a $10 Uber to the game.
Another place I like to go is the Amsterdam Brewhouse. It's right on Lake Ontario, so it can be really franking cold on a cold night. But the food is pretty good, the beers are good, and nice atmosphere. If you aren't with your wife, you can walk to the game after dinner. If you are with your wife, she will make you take a cab. It's about 10 minutes southwest of the ACC. - Atomic Wedgie
Real Sports Bar could be an experience as well, just to check it out once. |

One of my faveorite places to go before Jays games. - Santo_44
I wish the Steamwhistle Brewery would serve food - all they have is pretzels.
It would be a franking perfect place for pre-gaming - Jays and Leafs. |

Never been to Bean town.
I was going to suggest real sports bar right beside the ACC. |

There's another one now that's closer for ACC actually. Goodman Pub right at the back of the Harbourfront Centre. |

It is. They have a second bottling/brewing location somewhere up around the Annex too (I think that's where anyway) |

Yeah, especially if there is an afternoon game you can watch, although the few times I've been there in the last year or so, they blast music whenever the Leafs or Raptors aren't playing.
And I find the food there to be nasty - just overpriced, oversauced and dripping with calories. |

Didn't people say that place went down hill? I thought there was a conversation about that place on here like a month ago. The pictures made it look like a cool (frank)ing spot. |

Also, if I wear a Bruins jersey shall I expect a Philadelphiaesq response or just get a little poop, of which I'd expect and be fine with? |

You'd definitely be going for the experience - not the food.
But if you do want to go, you need to make a reservation in the next few days - it books up on Saturday nights at least 3 weeks in advance. |

In all the Leafs games I have ever been to, the only time I have ever seen an opposing fan be treated poorly was when a drunk douchebag Leafs fan dumped a beer on his head. About five Leafs fans grabbed the douchebag, security was called, the douchebag was thrown out, the rest of the section apologized profusely to the Sens fan, and somebody bought him a beer.
True story.
If you are going to be an idiot, you will be treated like an idiot.
If you are just cheering for your team, you will be treated like a guest to our city - which is what you are. |

You'll get some light verbal jabs but in my experience it''s always just been light back and forth. As long as you're having fun with it everyone else usually is.
The chance of running into some POS twats who take it too far is the same as any other arena. Just give them the "Ok" accompanied by the talky hand and they can go on looking stupid by themselves. |

Regular season you will be fine, it will be more rowdy than usual because it's close to playoffs at that time.
Avoid wearing one if you ever go to a playoff game there are some dummy's that do get physical |

And one further thought: let people know you are actually from Boston.
We tend to hate Torontonians who cheer for other teams (especially the Habs). If you are a Bostonian cheering for Boston, it's all good in the 'hood. |

A Habs fan decided to wear a Habs jersey and try and pick fights with everyone. He didn't make it past the 1st.... |
