I would be surprised if they do nothing. They would be breaking the terms of Babcocks contract. Babcock has requested that they be buyers and improve the D by TDL. They promised him as part of his contract that he will have a say in decisions regarding how the team is run/built.

Liljigren and a 1st or Liljigren and Marner would need to be the trade IMO. You guys would prefer the 1st ofc, but i doubt TO adds either. Therefor they will not upgrade their d this year. Prob just a 2nd for Guddy or a 3rd+decent prospect is my guess.

That price for Tanev is ridiculous, 2nd for Guddy is a joke. Wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t do anything, still young and building. Probably look to do something in the offseason instead of trading for a rental who doesn’t really upgrade their bottom pairing even.

What are you smoking? Our unprotected 1st alone is worth Marner. Marner may be good, but he is a winger. I would personally value our 1st more than Marner as it will have a good shot at Dahlin, who is likely worth more than Matthews if he is as good as scouts think he is.
