If we look at the RFA forwards I think Hartman is the best of the bunch. That's not saying he's a superstar, just the best of this small group. Hartman is a versatile forward and improves the team's overall depth.

Hartman hasn't been a huge goal scorer, I don't think it's realistic that he keeps up a 20 goal pace in his career. Last season he had 31 points, this season he's on pace for 36 just with few goals and more assists.

I still rank the RFAs as Hartman, Hinostroza then Duclair. Hopefully Stan can re-sign them all.

- DarthKane

I disagree. I don't think Hartman is the top priority. I think Duclair and Hinostroza are 1-2. Hayden would be 3rd for me and then Hartman. Gustafsson might even pass Hartman if Gusty keeps playing the way he is now.

Duclair and Hinostroza are faster and better than Hartman right now, and have room for a lot more growth on this team.

Hayden has the potential to be a top 6 power scorer if he figures it all out. Just imagine the ability to put him alongside any line and get production.

Hartman is a nice player, and he'll likely get signed to a cheap deal, but I don't consider him the priority. If you lose Hartman it's not the end of the world.

Say what you want about the advanced #'s, but they have been impressive all season.

Hawks top 5 in most metrics that determine puck possession, including not only shots but scoring chances as well. So that "well they're getting a lot of shots but none of them are quality" argument doesn't really add up.

- SimpleJack

The real argument is: Yes, they are top 5 in shots and chances, but they are also top 2 in giving up shots and quality chances.

If we lose any of the RFAs it's not the any of the world. Hartman has shown more than Hayden, but I do like Hayden's potential.

Although I disagree I understand the argument of prioritizing Hinostroza over Hartman.

Honestly, the Duclair situation worries me. I would be hesitant to commit too much to Duclair, his situation feels like Panik all over again.

That's ok, we'll just trade him for Jeremy Morin and start the cycle all over again.

Does a team actually hold his rights anymore? He's played in 5(!) different leagues this year.

New to posting here after years of reading. If Jacob Trouba seriously wanted out of Winnipeg and Sikura turns out to be something g of a player, I'd offer Saad and either Forsling or Jokiharu and a pick of some sort for him.

StanBo is clearing enough cap space to bring back Panarin when he becomes a free agent

I'd guess Panarin and his agent would tell Chicago to go jump in the big lake.

That was arguably the most impressive win they have had for a long time. Forsberg played great and had outstanding rebound control. Guys were all IN and doing the necessary things to win games....Kane taking a hit to set up the winning goal, and then getting ice time with under a minute left speaks VOLUMES for how far he has come in his 2 way game....

So....they have a game in hand on Dallas chasing 5 pts, Colorado has a game in hand them leading by 3 pts, and they are even with Minnesota (chasing 4 pts), and Calgary (chasing 5 pts)

Still an uphill climb but I don't get where people think they need to get to 98 pts go make the playoffs. All these teams will play each other and the most important thing for the Hawks is they have to be involved in 3 pt games against teams they aren't chasing to ensure they are racking up points.

With 32 games left and sitting at 55 pts......Can they get another 40+ pts? Can they go 20-12?

Here is the remaining schedule broken into 3, 10 game increments and the last 2.....Can they get 6,6,7 wins and then split the final 2? Or the combination of points?

@van, @cal, cal, dal, @min, @arz, @lv, anh, wash, la
ott, sj, @clm, @sj, @la, @anh, col, car, @bos, bos
@wpg, @buf, stl, @col, van, @nyi, sj, wpg, @col, @stl
stl, @wpg

Tall order, and this team will be physically enhausted at some point for having to play catch up......but I like the lineup with the younger kids offering speed, and balance. Liked Q demoting Saad to line 4 after he was a non factor again.....woudlnt be shocked to see him scratched very soon for a game.....

Overpay. Trouba just landed on IR for 8 weeks. Now if you wanna send Saad + Forsling +pick for Trouba and Ehlers, sign me up

I doubt very much that Forsling is or becomes more valuable than Ehlers or Trouba depending on how you see the trade. A top pairing dman is worth more than a winger or a D prospect IMO

Why does Trouba even want out of WPG anyway? Looking to go to a contender? Stan would probly sign him to a deal with a NMC/NTC

Bigger market.

Also have you ever been to Winnipeg? It's not for everyone.

Apparently he wants to play in the USA, preferably the east coast I believe. But Chicago would probably be more to his liking than Winnipeg

why bigger market? Good players get paid no matter where they play. Ok, if he doesn't like the city then that's another thing, but just simply because he wants to play for a bigger market team seems dumb.

and if its true, then I'd be hesitant to swing a deal for him wondering if he'd pull the same stuff with my team as well.

It's cold AF in Winnipeg. It's -2 F and gunna be a high of 7 degrees this week.....it's also a tiny city with barely 700,000 residents.

Winnipeg is not exactly a huge place and there's not a lot in the surrounding area. Endorsement deals are minimal at best and Manitoba has pretty high taxes on just about everything.
