Even if they are to become sellers, who would they be willing to trade and what could they get? I am thinking not much - TJYTJY
The people they SHOULD trade no one will want. So the drive to the toilet is gonna be a hard one. But rest assured it's coming. Lottery pick is a lock next year, may get one this year. Just keep saying "3 Cups" and all is well. |

Just a horrendous power play as usual. A couple good looks with the Toews unit but the next group couldn’t even get o-zone possession of the puck. Can’t carry it in, can’t dump & chase... constant waste of the man advantage.
But it’s been like this for the last few years. Why would I expect it to change in a must score situation during a must win game?
Then Seabrook with whatever anyone wants to call that play on the last goal. Just a brutal game. Poor effort. - OneGoalx3
So, what happened to the PP units and scheme (worked up jointly by the players and Dineen) that had us scoring on 3 PPs in that game not too long ago? Why were those returned to the same tired units including Keith?
This is when I question whether Q overrode them and insisted on going back to the old ways?
(I missed all but the 3rd, so if they were more creative with the unit makeup and scheme earlier, my bad.) |

I hope games like this are enough reason for the front office to know that Seabrook is done in this league, try to trade him at the deadline and after nobody wants him then just buy his ass out in the summer. My God....... |

They scored PP against poop PK units. Even a mediocre PK unit shuts this group down. This is simply put BAD hockey we are witnessing. Simply bad. the PP is atrocious on every level. I don't think an ECHL team could do a lot worse. |

Last 10 goals scored by the Hawks . . . Schmaltz (2), Debrincat (4), Hinostroza (2),
Kampf (1), Duclair (1). Nothing from Kane, Toews, Saad. This team had better find a way to land a #1 center next year because Toews no longer fills that roll. And a big FU to Bowman and his grandstanding speech after last years playoff sweep on how he was embarrassed and angry and how things were gonna change and the Hawks would be much tougher to play against. If he really felt that way, I wonder how he's going to feel when after all his moves, they don't even make it to the playoffs. And after the contracts he gave out to guys like Seabrook and Anisimov and adding guys like Wingels (just average) and Bouma (below average and no longer playing) he's more part of the problem than he is the solution.
Last thing on the PP - since Dec 1st the PP is 10 for 82, and 4 of those goals came in one game against Ottawa, who's PK is one of the worst if not the worst in the league. Take that game out and they are 6 for 76. |

We need a NEW !! coach . It has been evident for awhile . Hell I bring in Scotty right now if he could handle it . The PP is sickening ,lines were a hot mess all night . Get AA back with Kane , he needs some defensive presents on that line and DBC . Get Vinny and Hartman Schmaltz together . Throw Jurco on the top line with Toews and Duclair he has been much better then last year so far . Well we are not out of it YET , and with this teams complete unpredictability we could win 3 or 4 in a row .. who knows ..GO HAWKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 |

They need to move Seabrook and retain 50%, you could find many D men better than him at 3.5. At this point not sure why he even plays. Dude is so finished, it's sad and embarrassing. |

When is the last time this flotsam won 4 in a row? I dont remember. This team is done...a terrible, top heavy team wth overplayed fluffers. You beat Nash, you damn well come out and smoke poopty as Vancouver, but NOO...can't do it...88, 19 and 7 no points, 7 may as well assisted on the Canucks last goal. HOW the hell is a line change gonna fix lousy play like that. This team has a few overpaid/overrated stars and some bargain basement kids who are doing about all they can.
This thing is done. Time to rebuild, be it with a new coach or not. |

Turns out skipping the 3rd was a wise move.
Another game down in the slog to an early offseason. |

What? Those guys demanded big money, they suck (mostly), they have NO ONE to whine about other than themselves. Only Kane has earned his money. 7 and 19 are boat anchors at this point. |

It was like the first two periods....a team going through the motions, filing stock reports and planning an early may vacation. Embarassing effort by this team this year. Not only do they stink, half the time it doesn't look like they are trying (see Seabrook on Canuck goal #4)....I'd send 7 to (frank)ing Anchorage to play hockey if I could for that lousy heartless effort. |

12/8-17 sabres (ot), yotes, panthers (ot) and nice wins vs jets and wild and then went on to lose 5 of the ext 7...since that 5 gm streak have not won more than 2 in a row..
ya know supposed big playoff push |

Mr Smith not happy after giving up pile to the bolts...and guess who the hawks get for the next 240 minutes of "playoff" hockey.. |

This team just isn't very good, perfect combination of, Hossa retiring, Toews becoming an above average center, and Keith is the only top 4 defenceman on this team when he wants to be. Effort was there tonight unfortunately the cost of success has caught up.
Want a coaching change, sure? But I've got news for you unless that new coach comes with 3 top 4 defenceman results aren't going to change, the good/ refreshing part of all this is the org can invest all their focus in building it again |

I know he has had some decent stretches this season, but Kane picked a bad time to slump. He is fighting it right now. I wasn't a fan of his backhand pass to nobody which the Canucks stole and turned the other way to score that 4-2 goal.
The top PP unit is rarely able to gain the zone or do anything at the moment. Anismov's stock is falling fast. Simply awful since coming back from injury. Hawks gave him only about 7 minutes of 5v5, right down there with Wingels, Hartman, Jurco.
On the bright side, Keith was breaking up plays and playing like he really gave a damn. His best game in a long time. That top line nearly clicked a number of times, but again not enough finish. They call the penalty shot for Toews and I bet this game would have gone down differently.
Half the D were pretty good, half weren't. Kampf is looking better and better, I hope he keeps playing with some confidence. |
