Which is why they need to make sure they manage it this season so their full cap is available next season. - 1970vintage
Boeser can earn another 850K in bonuses next year as well so best to apply them to the cap this year. |

thats his job to do exactly that. He doesn't rep morals or taxpayers, he reps the owners interests and the owners are the league.
We can hate him but the reality is that he is very good at his job which he does to a T. If he had a different job maybe he wouldnt seem like such an Ahole. - SMBDragon
I don't think I implied that I didn't understand Gary's job, I implied that he sidesteps questions and give false messages to fans on behalf of owners. I don't find him to be that good at his job, the NHL is the on the bottom half in terms of profession revenue by league. |

It is a fail, I'll be extremely disappointed if that's the route they take!! They need draft picks not castoffs.
I'd be happy with a third for Vanek but expect a 2nd. - LeftCoaster
I would take a St. Louis or Tampa cast off. |

No difference from this season except faster and younger.
I forgot the D though.

From ST. Louis I would take Kyrou or Schmaltz
From Tampa it would be Raddysh, Cirelli or Foote
NYI I wouldn't mind Toews or MTV as options
Most of these won't happen for Guddy, but one can wish. |

ya youre right he's very good at that!
as for revenue. Yes the american sports make way more. But when you compare it to when he came on board its night and day more than it was. Same with exposure of the league |

I think he's done reasonably well. But there are huge hockey markets that continue to be more interested in the NCAA than in the NHL, that and various failed markets that he continues to dig his heels into(yet they don't really take in the market) seem to speak to a general level of incompetence IMO. If they were really focused on making money, why have a division that in the east that only has American teams? Seems you would want Toronto and New York to be your biggest rivals (two biggest viewership markets) and pit them against each other. Maybe have a new york team and a toronto team in each eastern conference, so you end up with 'Subway series' type matchups.
Anyway, that's my two-cents. It could be organized better than it is, they could be making much more league-wide revenue than they are (another toronto area team alone would do this) but instead he pushes hockey in the desert and in a predominantly spanish-speaking state where interest in hockey has NOT grown despite the BS you see on NBC. Rant over. |

Next year
Eriksson Petersson Boeser
Baertschi Horvat Lind
Gagner Gaudette Grabner
Granlund Sutter Virtanen - manvanfan
Obviously your wish list, so you think 3 under developed prospects make the team, and you slot one as 1st line centre, and put a junior player on the 2nd line.

We don't develop players Makita, they will (apparently) learn more playing between 8-13 minutes at the NHL level and not producing/gaining confidence/learning skills than they will in a developmental league. |

More importantly. Lets argue if it comes from the canucks or the league, just in case we suddenly become contenders and need to focus on cap space!!!! |

Are we picking up the "superstar whisperer" on waivers to replace Vanek or what? Did JB get the memo? |

Good thing Brock was an under developed prospect. Wouldnt have just won all-star MVP otherwise. 😆 |
