Anyways Gaudette with 2 goals and an assist tonight. Game ended 4-4. I really dislike the no shoot out and the 5v5 overtime. Time for change NCAA.

Besides this is a rebuild season while prospects develop & we draft more. Add the TDL to that as well.

After the 2012 season, when they should have started rèbuilding, I was expecting this to be a 7-8 year process.
We had nothing in the cupboards back then and some awful hard to deal with contract situations. The re-signing of a couple of aging players 4 seasons ago didn't help matters either.
Not defending Benning, as I couldn't care less if he is replaced, just saying when you start with a mess it takes time to reorganize and I believe every GM should be given 6 years to see the fruits of their labour.

Free Agents. I like Grabner BTW. 19 ES goals. This team could desperately use that.

How much Markus Granlund would fetch at the TDL.

I would say Gudbranson is more of an upgrade on Polak because he has the potential to bring a much more physical game, he doesn't usually, but the potential is there.

Grabner, ya I have no issues there, speed, the game is exciting when you've got more speed and finish.

Since we aren't debating Grabner. Pencil him into the 3rd line next season 2 year contract at 3.35 AAV. Only 30 years old, seeing the impact that Vanek is having on the kids. (no need for either Sedin then)

I've compared Gudbranson to Radko Gudas before, with a little less douchiness. Personally I'd rather trade him for a second and third round pick and be done with him, I always hated that trade....always!

I'd like them to trade Sutter and open up that third line center spot for Gaudette, sign a free agent center for the second line and continue developing the kids.

If Gudas is going to sign a 3.35 for 4 years. Then Gudbranson doesn't deserve 5.

6 years at 3.5 I would re-sign Guds. He is physical and the team is and would still miss that. Maybe that ease's him and he plays a bit better knowing he has some security.
