But..but.. we have tons of prospects playing in super duper men's leagues around the world, that are just chomping at the bit for a chance.
Also, the Islanders have done a good job of developing our future #1 centre.😁

Yes I have read that these guys are already developed and just need to be slotted in the lineup.

I am not a fan of the Oilers NHL development system, I can see there are quite a few posters here that love the shiny new toy syndrome, but personally I prefer the learning and earning system.

One more year of the Sedins, prospects develop in the AHL, Canucks will win the lottery, 3 years SC finals with Benning as GM

Wouldn't hate if they brought in Jagr, would be the slowest powwerplay in the league but a good guy for Bo and Boeser to be around. Has won everything.
- neem55

I wouldnt hate it either. Its a lost season already on nearly every front, so seeing him chase down Howe's games played record would be something nice to follow besides Boeser.

There would be outrage, but I really have hard to see a downside:
-He isnt taking a youth spot, they have rolled out Virtanen, Goldobin, Gaunce, etc with minimal success.
-He wouldnt take minutes away from Boeser/Horvat.
-He'd give a new voice strong enough to overshadow the Sedins.
-And he essentially could take Vanek's spot for the last 30 games, ensuring the team actually trades him

They wont claim him though, but it really wouldnt be the worst move IMO

I seeing it being a disaster on PR side. Adding to the mixed message syndrome.

I agree. Nothing wrong with having these kids at least start in Utica and if they play well, then maybe bring them in. Full or partial seasons in Utica allow for the callups of these kids, so management can see where they are at, whereas, some of those other leagues, don't allow for the callups, which hinders the ability for assessment at nhl level.
As much as I don't want Sedin's back, it is part of reality, unfortunately.
Sign Benning for 2 year extension. Let him have the 6 years to see this transition through...or replace and start over.

Although it would be excellent fodder for non stop complaining,

All joking aside, WhiteLie is correct about the current status of the team, and who or what would it hurt in the long run.

I don't deny that, it the message it sends by adding a player in his mid 40's.

Edit: ....and WhiteLie is a drama queen so it's hard to take anything he says seriously.

It really makes sense to bring Henrik back with their lack of depth at center, I really don't want th em back, he's a one year insurance policy.

They don't really need Daniel, therein lies the issue with me.

Regardless of who is GM, I think 6 years is appropriate to allow a GM to try and change a team to their vision.

I don’t see anyone ready to jump from junior, AHL, European Leagues next year. I do realize that Gaudette is making a case for himself, Benning struck pay dirt with Boeser, can Gaudette repeat that. I think the team screwed up Hutton and Stechers development, hate to see another college player with potential ruined by trying to appease ā€œfansā€.

Guess we will see at training camp.

I feel like booner posting after Carol has posted a new blogšŸ˜€

I doubt you will be the only one leaving.
I won't watch much if that happens, just check ouþ how the young guys are doing.
And of course, read Carl's excellent blogs. Maybe read what the comments section has to offer and chime in now and then. We shall see.

I have managed too watch Gaudette play a little bit this season, doubt he is ready.

Lefty, I agree, about Henrik, but as we all know, can't have one without the other.

I cant see it being a mixed message thing, most of the kids havent shown enough that they deserve more icetime, and this is 44-year old Jagr who will not be the boost that gets this team into the playoffs
