I don't want to put my hopes on a lottery ball so I hope we take Evan Bouchard as a realistic possibility.

Tree OJ Bouchard Holms Hutton Stecher Pouliot in the near future and maybe Rathbone

- VANTEL

We can realistically expect a upgrade via trade or signing in that group as well.

Benching even ones own body weight 15 times is very very impressive.

Maybe he will be a Swedish hitman like Edler

I think he is too slow but they should give him a shot at least 👍🏻
- CanuckDon

Dorsett wasn't very fast. He could overcome being a bit slower with great positioning and his long reach.

"And that’s where it gets tricky because depth guys – and I mean depth – like seven/eight defencemen, they’re relatively easy to grab a hold of via trade or even waivers. But that’s not what Toronto needs.

“What Toronto needs, is a solid No. 5 and maybe that player surfaces between now and the trade deadline, but there’s no guarantee of that.”

Gudbranson! JB get on the phone.

Hard to say since we are talking about the future.

Since you were talking post 2018 draft moving forward in the post I quoted, we may be at some point trading O for D depending on what happens at the TDL, drafting and UFA's.

I thought he had pretty good wheels actually. He's a short shift player though.

It really is and that is why I think a new GM should get here soon Poor Benning gets the heat

according to J.D. Burke of The Athletic (subscription required). The scribe begins by pointing out that the Sedin’s decision will have major implications to the salary cap and the look of the team. The cost to retain both soon-to-be 38-year-old forwards will be about $10MM, estimates Burke, who adds the team would have to make a decision whether to keep Vanek with the team.

If the Sedin’s stay, will Benning look for assets that might benefit the veteran Sedins, rather than focus on the team’s need to rebuild. FFS

When you try and please aqua man and the Sedin's I don't see how he could do his job properly.

I wonder who said weeks ago that it would cost 10 mil and that is fooken nuts.

It does zero to help our team going forward. It delays things another year and insulates us to another bottom 5 finish

His contracts are not good value. That doesn't fall on Aquaman

They were thriving when Bo's line and Sutters line were healthy . You don't need the rest of the garbage

Someone mentioned 5 mill each and I think that's when I lost it.

They are worth $4 million each not 5. Regardless, I don’t want them back

Contracts aren't so bad. I wonder what the team would be like if they didn't draft JV and if they didn't have to sign players for the Sedin's every year.

They are not worth 8 mil to the Canucks , maybe to another team that are competing but not us. We could find another piece to the puzzle with 8 mil .

Rebuilding teams should not bring in expensive untradeable players

The players want them back, ask any one of them, even connor is amazed watching them and we don't see the inside stuff they do but 5 million each is to much.

They have great respect around the league. OF course other teams players want them back, they are easy to play against!
