Whether you like it or not, he's on the trade block.
Go find me an article saying he's the same level prospect as Peterson?
He's the same level as Lind, Gudbranson and Vanek should net us either a pick in that range plus or a player of that caliber from a contending team.

I read the article saying he was on the block. I really dont care if he is or isnt.

Pronman lattest has him at 19th best in the league and Petterson at 10. Thats similar, do I agree with the rankings no. But they arent that far off was my original point.

I said 5.5 not 6 . He also has improved this year .

I do agree that 8 years is a big risk but we seen him play and know what he can do and those final four years would be a steal

- VANTEL

I like the idea of a long term deal. Worth the risk in this case.

I was hoping for 3 million at 7 years before he left.

True, he has played stellar this year.
Even 5.5 might be way to much. What if he stops giving a (frank) after he signs?
Buy him out?
He won't leave if he's getting that much cash.
I'd say that he would be at that level for years 3 to 6 of that contract and worth more at the tail end, like you said.
Just to much risk with a Russian.
Short term until he's proven to GAF.

Agreed, Jamie Benn was a 5th round pick so when we traded Pouliot for a 4th it was basically like trading Benn Plus a B level prospect for Pouliot.
- CanuckDon

But benn cant ever be good he was drafted in the 5th making every player ever draft a head of him a better player.

6 million is a lot to bench. Hasn't worked with Eriksson and i don't expect tree to be worth 6 million per ever, potentially but not for sure. I'd be hesitant to give any unproven Russian 6mx8, he's not going to bolt of hes getting paid that much and the odds of him achieving a top 3 defencemen role successfully are against him.

If it's an 8 year contract is offer 3 or 3.5 max.
Or a 2 year 4 million deal, if he earns it then pay him his 6x8.

Dahlin would look good next to him on the blue line.

Trymakin was the most impactful player on D other than Tanev & Edler, and more valuable (when he played) than Hutton, Stecher, MDZ, or DP is today. He was big enough that he could more than hold his own against anyone...he just didn't play with the edge that WD thought he should. He came to the Canucks out of shape, so slow out of the gate, but finished strong and has built on that in the K.

I'd definitely look to bring him back for a mid-length deal, maybe 4 X 4m, throw in a signing bonus which gets him out of the KHL. He'd be making as much (or more) than Tanev (4m), less than Edler (6). MDZ is at 3.0, Hutton 2.8, DP 0.8, Stech at 0.9m

I think he always GAF. I remember watching him push one of the Sedins off the ice to help him get off when they were struggling and one time looking at Hank on the bench to see if he was okay.

I just think you had a young kid who felt he didn't fit in. All he heard was the downside from Willie and the media saying he needed time in Utica. Him coming back at 24 as part of the future core could be different.

My thoughts exactly. He would also have a better idea of what to expect. With people on him all the time to be meaner that he just isnt that type of guy and the whole WD stuff probably bothered him.

To me he plays similar to Ekholm in Nashville. Hes just bigger.

Good for him. Hopefully they'll have someone on the team when he get's here who will have his back. He's going to be a target.

Hard to erase the image of Benn and others bouncing off him. Can you imagine him as a man and not a star gazed kid.

Tryamkin's return is much needed on so many levels. He is absolutely what this team needs moving forward and he would seem to fit in nicely with our young core - when the Sedin's retire of course.

We draft the best D available at this years draft and our blue line isn't looking so grim. Maybe take D with our first two picks. Trade Tanev next year!

I don't want to put my hopes on a lottery ball so I hope we take Evan Bouchard as a realistic possibility.

Tree OJ Bouchard Holms Hutton Stecher Pouliot in the near future and maybe Rathbone
