So I’m thinking of doing some research on NHL player production that will take me some time to fit into my schedule.
One aspect is to gain an understanding of what the populist definition of the following classification of players
...so help me out by providing your definition of the following categories...it may be useful to think of some in percentage or absolute numbers as appropriate for the class or group of classes(I.e. Elite is top 17% of all forwards, or 10% of 1 line forwards)

-Generational Crosby, that's it. He's been head and shoulder above everyone in the league for the majority of his career. He's proven himself generational.
-Elite: Ovechkin, McDavid, Malkin, Kane, JT, Stamkos, Karlsson, Doughty, Hedman...
-Very Good: Will probably be elite, but still need to prove it... Matthews, Eichel, Laine, Mckinnon, Pasternak, Ekblad...
-Good: Everyone else above average.

Thoughts? The more the better!

Nice. All Star skills competition is pretty awesome. I like the rink wide saucers into the mini nets in the relay. Thought that might be Yeeeeeeichel’s contribution in it.

We already have our stud forward. The Leafs didn't need to finish dead last year after year to put a killer supporting cast around Matthews.

if you draft somewhere in the top 10 you've got a decent shot at a core player. It would sting however if they missed out on a group of elite players because of a few extra meaningless wins.
