Duclair had a sick move, but he stickhandles too much. Team needs to shovel crap at the net.
- ObeseOprah

If he and Schmaltz ever end up on the same line no shots will ever be taken..... He's fitting right in with making the 17th extra pass. Fun to watch though, kid can fly and he ain't small. Easy to see why his skills are coveted and will be given numerous chances because of his feet and hands.

Anson Carter thinks Gustafson pinching nullifies icing? No, Anson. IF Gustafson touched the puck it would, but he didn't. Should've been icing but an inexcusable play by 7.
- EnzoD

I said it earlier....Anson Carter is BRUTAL.
that is NOT the rule. Get somebody on these telecasts that know hockey NBC.
HORRIBLE commentary !!

For every game that Crow is out, and Malkin is playing, and Rocky is quiet, why are we getting worked up? If losing is bothering him, then he should be making noise. Since he is quiet, we should be too.

For this year, to me this is a blessing in disguise, its revealing the warts we have, what's surprising is its not just the new guys some core players included.

That's a given. Toews play tonight was embarrassing. Osterle was a trainwreck. Saad did little. Vinnie actually looked good. I didn't think Murphy and Kempny were all bad. Hawks are finished and given the bloated salaries of mediocre players I think we've seen the last of it for a long while

Best thing I've done in awhile is drop my cable/dish and I stream everything. No longer have to listen to Foley and if it's a Canadian team playing I always choose their feed.

Like watching an NFL broadcast. Lotsa money into it and professional on all counts.

Why because over his career 88 is a joke 5 on 5?

Got it

- Goalie-33

Yep Kane is the problem. Good call. They put him in charge of the power play yesterday and today in practice and score 2 goals as opposed to going 0-16 or whatever they were in the past 5 games.

Problem with this team is Toews being a near nothing player making 10.5 M, Keith deciding when to go through the motions and when to play like a top 2 dman, Seabs getting old and Crow not being there to bail us out.

This year was always going to be a rebuild. It’s a bad year but with the right moves they’ll be back in the mix next year. Gotta get more net presence, more experience on defense and new leadership in the room. And I’m not necessarily talking about Q. If Toews can’t perform better he should go the way of Dustin Brown and relinquish the C. Frankly his body language, recent interviews and overall lack of production is sickening.

Passes through his legs, chasing to the point he was getting turned around with his stick flailing, winning few if any battles, at this point he looks totally outclassed playing against big time players...He literally is 3rd line center at this point.

2 goals on the power play, minus Keith and Toews
- BetweenTheDots

So......1st in the WC last year, almost last in the WC this year......who's most at fault. Toews, Seabrook, Keith ????
OR..... Quenneville for continuing to ride this weak performing trio of BAD CORE ???

I can remember what it feels like to be sitting on that bench and watching your supposed leaders continually suck game in and game out.....yet get top performing minutes every game. How deflating it must be for the 25 and under young Blackhawks.

What a MESS......

Oh well, let's get those playoff invoices out asap guys !! Ok Mr. Mac......

i sure am enjoying all the ozone time they have been having this year

...while the hawk goalies consistently face 35 plus shots with about 12-15 high quality chances per game and have bail out their dman and forwards gamer after game

Sad to see indeed.

I sound like a broken record I know but this team is going nowhere for the next 5 years as long as Toews and Seabs contract are still on the books and they are both still playing.

I have 18 million arguments if anyone says otherwise.

now they 7 of 9 on the road...34 games left of this toothache season

1. 27 vs playoff contending teams
2. 18 vs teams they have not beaten in regulation
3. 12 vs division foes
4. end the season with aves, blues 2x, jets 2x; they will be spoiled by then and can play the spoiler role

with that schedule and no craw...85 points is best case

Honestly I’d say all of the above. Toews has seemingly lost interest. No leadership on on the bench as said tonight by the announcers on NBCSN.

Seabs doesn’t have it anymore defensively. Keith flat footed and beaten by 15 feet on the OT Faceoff.

Guys still not getting to the net like they should on offense. It’s all a mess right now. But that said perhaps if these young players grow for another offseason they’ll win a few more of these next year and get back in the playoffs.

I know I may be in the minority here but 88 should be given the C moving forward. He brings it most nights. And the A’s should be handed out on a rotating basis based on performance until next season. Toews was an incredible player but he’s not the same guy. Keith isn’t what he once was but is still a very valuable player when he wants to be. Seabs is a bottom 6.

Without Crawford they can’t beat anyone that they should beat. But I think that experience for the younger guys will pay off in the near future. Just not soon enough to salvage this season.

Damning with faint praise? Can't tell

ETA: and he also said this:

Mike Babcock: "They were fast, we were slow in the first. They skated us into the ground. Toews and Kane still thought they should be the best players and we were just learning how to play. And then I thought we dug in and got playing better." #Blackhawks

toews was one the most competitive two way complete player the hawks have ever had...until after the 2015 cup...

the toews dead horse continues to take a beating

1. over this 8 game homestand no production from him or anyone he played with
2. his line tonight had a few chances but for the most part didn't do or control a damn thing...
3. drop from OT start for about a month now
4. now off the 1st PP
5. i can't believe i am saying this: but he is just another guy out there who just happens to be the highest paid player in the league

It’s a really difficult thing to watch as a die hard and admittedly an apologist. But in my humble opinion Hossa was the best two way player on the team who lead by example and made the entire team better. If he were still able to play they’d be better not only because we’d have a world class player on the team but also because he was a leader in the room and on the ice.

This is hard to watch. But it has to happen for them to move forward. I believe that the hawks need a new voice behind the bench and in the room. I think that this core still may have some game left but not with the status quo.

They’re not getting rid of both Stan and Q. Q will take the fall this year and Stan if they don’t turn it around quickly. Then again I’m a mess with emotion over the Hawks and want desperately for them to turn it around ASAP.
