wtf is toews doing to consistently get thrown out of faceoffs...why cant he adjust
- bogiedoc

Great question......do you think any reporter would ever ask Quenneville about it ??????

Q last game: “We use the word brutal — I thought that was complimentary,”

“Out to lunch. Use them all,” Quenneville continued. “That wasn’t good enough. Nowhere near good enough.”

gosh what does he say after this one

It is, but he is now a number 5 defenseman. And we do not have a 1,2,3, or 4....

we have a 2, 5,6,7,8,9,10, etc

- jimnhlnut

I don't know...

6+M per till 2023 seems like a stretch for a terrific guy in the room.

Kinda like 10.5M per for "leadership" is a bit stiff for Toews these days.

Besides, sure seems like leadership of late at all levels is a bit lacking.

I would trade anyone and everyone except 88 and 8.
- EnzoD

Problem is, Bowman is doing the trading, and as I said earlier, I have no confidence in the guy to dig this team out of the huge whole he helped dig with some of the contracts he gave out and some of the moves he's made. Let's not forget this is the guy that traded for David Runblad, a guy that Q would never play, yet Bowman, even though he was dealing with a cap crunch, just had to resign him for another season and lets not forget the trade of 2 second round picks to the Flyers for the Kimmo Timonen, or the trade of Daneault to Montreal for Weise or how badly he got fleeced on the Sharp trade. Sharp didn't do much for the Stars, but what he got back in return was nothing but garbage and he screwed himself by holding out for a #1 pick that he was never going to get. The Leddy deal was similar in nature. He waited too long to move Leddy and every team in the league knew it, so he got basically nothing for him.

Agreed to an extent, but this team is 40% or more AHL quality players. That's on Stan Bowman, not Q.
- EnzoD

Or price of sustained success?

That slam and click you heard is the window closing and locking on the Hawks championship era.

It was a nice run.

Forsling and Rutta sit next game, yes?
- matt_ahrens

Absolutely. ...Kemp and Murph....you're in. And the Q spinnerama continues to have the players scratching their heads.
I'm thinking they're all laughing at these tactics. When will it end ??

Yep. It's over. Good run. 3 Cups...better than what the Bears or White Sox did with their 1 and done.

Hard to argue with you on these points....could hide him as a number five IF we had a legit 1,2,3

I agree with you as well. The contracts that were handed out to the core of this team by Bowman has handcuffed their future to add higher quality talent.

However, I do think it is also a mix of that and the message. All good things come to an end. I absolutely love Quennville, but this team does not have the pushback that it once had. You would think that after last weeks stinker against Detroit, and their current standings in the conference, they would have came out tonight playing for their lives. This team does not seem like one who is playing for just that.

I'm not saying it would work...but after watching Pittsburgh's success the last two seasons after their coaching change, it makes you wonder what could happen with the Hawks.

I am aware of the massive differences in this years team compared to that of years past, but I still feel this team is coasting.

He'll be raking it in for years...may as well give some of it to good causes.

It's just too bad he peaked at 26.

I think he's only fallen once tonight though.....that's an improvement from his usual 3 to 5 a game.

The trades Bowman made this off season sure look bad now.
One of the reason given was it would help the with salery cap longer term. Great we have 4 million Murphy in the press box for 3 more years and we could had Hammer playing for two or used to trade at a deadline for some young pieces. Same with Saad so disappointed with him , rather have Breadman for two then have Saad for 4 .
I really didn't think they would make playoffs but this tough.

Coach Q must go . I am not buying the core falling off a cliff at the same time , I know I may be delusional but I believe this core , other then Kane has quit on this coach for some reason .
