Former #Sabres player Mike Weber retired today. He gave an outstanding press conference to the Swedish media at @frolunda_hc practice. He said he couldn't lift his two year old child because of knee damage, he needs a knee replacement. 1/

I feel bad for the guy..he sacrificed his body every game just to take a ton of poop from the media and fans. I mean...its not his fault he wasn't the second coming of Bobby Orr..

not to be that guy, but he chose to do this because it was the only way hed get a decent salary and nhl time.

I gave him a ton of poop because he wasn't NHL caliber outside of that and Jack Eichel is proof of that. I still feel bad for him, I went to school with these two girls who's dad played in the NHL and was forced to retire cause of concussions. Some of the stories they shared were downright frightening.

He was a good guy, at least anecdotally. My buddy and i always had a good laugh about this pic. Met him at a bar, and my drunk buddy told him he was his favorite sabre and slapped him on the belly. He was a good sport

Im convinced the reason the rebuild hasn't worked out is because we didn't build a statue for him and toews.

Not to be that guy, but people who say “he chose to do this” in this manner are generally privileged bumholes who don’t know what it means to have limited options.

I'm fully aware of that. He did what he had to do to make it and i respect that. Feet's original point was that people disliked him because he wasn't bobby orr. Nobody is, I disliked him because despite the respect I have for what he had to do, he was by all accounts a bad NHL player.

if you're going to use quotes, at least quote what's actually written, not what you came up with in your mind in an attempt to make yourself feel superior or me inferior.

Jesus Christ yourself

Cool. I don't get to work or get paid so chuck Schumer can have his illegal alien voter block. Thanks, chuck.

You know illegal aliens can't vote, right? In some cities they can, but not in any state or federal elections.

It really sucks that you're going to get furloughed, but let's at least use facts here.

There's more than enough blame to go around here. Democrats are being obstinate, republicans are being obstinate, and our glorious "deal making" president is nowhere to be seen.

So "path to citizenship" has nothing to do with votes? Are you that obtuse? Fine- all 800k "dreamers" get a path but cannot vote for 20 years and no chain immigration. Deal? That's all they want right? Citizenship? Please, man, don't come with that weak sauce.

Wow, it's not like they get citizenship tomorrow.

Also 87% of people are in favor of DACA.

There's also this:

So we know where he stands on a shutdown.

He doesn't give a (frank) about a shutdown. It's all a show so you re-direct your anger elsewhere.

I don't want you to be furloughed either, but when you control both houses and the White House it's kind of hard to do any finger pointing. This could've been avoided months ago. They like to work under a deadline just like everyone else.
