One of the only places they can thrive in BC. They tried them in the interior. Winters are too long and cold on still waters and rivers and large lakes have a balanced system that doesn't welcome the new species. I couldn't imagine how big they'd get in Horsefly River not far from here. Massive insect hatches, Fall Sockeye run thick with eggs and then a massive Fry hatch in the spring. Such an amazing fly fishing river.

Vanek and Guddy moved for picks prospects.
Not flashy.
No unproven rookies (because they're all going to Utica).
Edit. Actually, i dont know where we'd finish, but then we can talk about OJ, Pettersson, Dahlen and Gaudette, as well as Tkatchuk making the club.

Realism.... interesting, switch Nilsson and Demko and i wouldn't be surprised to see this.

Would actually be a decent 1st line if everyone continued to play to their potentials.

The following year you add OJ on the backend, have Dahlen/Pettersson effectively replace the Sedins with LE, Goldy sticks (Sven traded) and introduce Gaudette on the 4th line.

Kane-Bo-Brock
Goldy-Sutter-JV
Dahlen-Pettersson-LE
Granny-Gaudette-Gagner.

Lind/Gadjovich/Tkatchuk can push for spots (Dahlen) and slot in for injuries.

After all of that getting rid of players gets us picks but what garbage will replace them & why?
Its so easy for ppl to say Sedins retire & get of this guy or that but do u see many ppl coming up with who will play instead?

- Nucker101

No.

So if I understand this, the people that are tankers in here want the Sedins resigned because they help the team score goals and are worried about their potentential replacements being worse.

No wonder they cant be taken seriously.

Wrong. It is to insulate the young prospects joining the team so that they aren't over their head and their development is stalled or regresses.

Not wrong. You can find a lot of players that will sign a 1 year contract. I listed the 17 players that did from last summer. You choose to ignore it.

Even worse was all the screaming last season from the tankers about how the rebuild wont actually start until the Sedins are gone.

Simply having the Sedins play 4th line minutes isnt insulating anyone.

I would love to get Tkachuk this year but I see a bigger need to draft a Dman. OJ is the only real hope we have right now and a bunch of maybes .

If we were getting lottery picks no one would be complaining but JV and OJ are not lottery picks.

I think the kootenays has a couple places too so I was going to to go there for them. I mostly just river fish rainbows.

Snuck in some ice fishing yesterday. A couple bows and a load of perch..

This

I dont understand how people dont get this. They want free agents signed but those same players will require huge dollars and 5-7 year deals

When did any of us say we need equal value or 5 plus year contracts? Never. No one did.

Yes, then you factor Edler is a year older and will be even worse so believe it or not the defense is more of a disaster than it is today.

Steps have to be taken to fix the defense and fast. We cant just add one draft pick a year to turn this thing around.

I saw one comment that made sense to me but was on i think the athletic. It was trade Gud, tanev, sven, sutter, vanek, etc but then the poster said to use all the picks we acquire to move up in the draft a couple times in to the 1st. Then with are pick come away with Dahlin or Boqvist if not trade back.

But at the end of the day go in to the draft with a plan to come away with 3 top defensemen to add to OJ on the back end.

So thats what I am hoping for.

Not people in here.

Im saying thats what it will take to land one of the players people want to add.

UFAs all want to hit home runs as its probably their last big contract so players will want stability.
