If its Gardiner, better make sure that Kadri is part of that package.

"better make sure that Kadri is part of that package."

Pretty certain the guy currently cleaning the toilets in the Bell/MTS Centre does a better job than Kadri would, makes less than $4.5 million and doesn't count against the cap.

Talk about being a negative Nelly. The Jets haven't missed in the first round. Logan Stanley is the man!

Yes. Agreed . Stanley is showing potential. The Jets scouts always knew Stanley might take extra time to mature but he would be a solid blue-liner down the road. So far they have been right. Not the bust a lot of people thought he would be. Pretty sure Chevy tried to trade up for Chychryn (sp ?) but couldn't get it done. In the end Jacob has been injury riddled so far.

A healthy Enstrom would be an asset to this team if he could ever stay healthy.

The biggest problem with him is that he is paid as a top pairing 82 game/year d-man.
Unfortunately, he is actually a 2nd pairing d-man who has missed 25% of his team's games over the past 6 seasons.

He is no longer the player who earned the big contract that is expiring this year, but he would be serviceable for a team looking for depth for a playoff run and would return more assets to the Jets than his re signing would amount to.

Any move the Jets make should be centered around getting assets back for Enstrom. No rush on Trouba as he is still an RFA after this contract. Lots of time to convince him to re-up or line up a good hockey trade over the summer or late fall if he holds out again.

If my memory serves me correctly, a lot of "knowledgeable" hockey fans in these parts were calling 19-year-old Mark Scheifele a bust too.

i would rather have Kadri on my team as opposed to the oppositions. I am thinking the Jets want Lemieux to become a similar player to Kadri.

Nogier is still injured I believe, he has been out for the entire season so far. Niku is up and coming but not sure he is ready quite yet.

Having Enstrom now is good depth but anyone thinks that Enstrom is going to command big contract down the road or fit into a top 4 position of this team next year or beyond is crazy. Bounce back season? Good gracious. Let him go if he wants 4 mill, let him walk. Even Buff's contract now for three more years at 7.6 is going to be a red herring because we need the money to sign Trouba and Morrisey. And, if not Trouba then an equal coming back. You can only replace Trouba with a player like him and it is going to cost either way. Meyers declining? Cap friendly salary, I will play him any day over Enstrom and BTW, so will the coach. Sorry Rexy, go drink some strong coffee. Poolman slots in nicely next year with ELC, aurevoir little Tobi!

Unreal that you say players that are still in Junior is a bust. Haven't even made it to the A yet and you call Stanley a bust. Then say Enstrom is on a bounce back year and #4 D. Wow.

This is a stupid argument. Scheifele was predicted to go late in the first round, and the only thing that stopped him from jumping in at 18 or 19 was size. The same can be said of Trouba, Morrissey, Ehlers, Connor, and Roslovic. They were all elite players that were picked slightly ahead of where they were expected to go. Stanley would’ve made a great 3rd rounder.

Logan Stanley was the #4 dman in Windsor as a 19 year old, and the only comparable player drafted in the last 17 years to play more than 100 games at the NHL level is Tyler Myers. Disregarding my opinion on Myers here, Stanley doesn’t even match up well there either as Myers had an offensive explosion in his draft+1 season.

There’s this weird thing people do sometimes where they research things and look at evidence. You should look into that.

Kadri is an elite 2C. Lemieux might end up a 4th liner. The closest thing we have to a Kadri is Dano.

You are in a league of your own. Evidence of Dano, Enstrom and PoMo. Your opinions are laughable, particularly on Dano, Meyers, and the coach PoMo. Stay close to the phone, Chevy might call for some advice, lol.

So Stanley is a bust? What kind of GM would say that at age 19? Ummm no one!
And then to rave about Dano in the same breath? Yikes
It was a “bonus” 1st rd pick with Stanley and it’s worth taking him under those circumstances.
As Jets develop young payers he’s 2-3 years away from boom-bust or any other label

Let Enstrom walk, if we make the playoffs he’ll get killed again. Dump into his corner and control possession that’s all you have to do.
Look at LHD in draft, free agency and trade.

This is terrible advice on two counts:
1: allowing a top 4 dman to walk away without having a replacement option. Which, by the way, there wouldn’t have been last year as Alzner was the top lefty, and isn’t on Toby’s tier.
And 2: drafting for position instead of simply taking the best player available.

Enstrom won’t waive for a trade he likes it here. And if he won’t then plan B will be sign at $1 million tops or let him walk.
I never said take LHD over best player available I said look at 3 ways to find one, build depth.
Toby is not effective, can live with him this year but he was a disaster against Anaheim in the playoffs and that won’t get better.

Toby is a decking asset and the decline is steep. He came here after back to back 50+ point season , the last 2 years 16 and 14 points , this year may hit 10 points. $15 million over these 3 year is nuts
