One could say that literally about 10-14 NHL clubs that struggle year in-year out. Not a big deal really. We have some good things to look forward to finally.

I think you have to care what fans and media think because if you don’t you create an environment of disinterest with your product, then the product fails.

So I would flip it around and say ‘who cares’ about the ‘right moves’ if your audience does not give a poop.

Agree and I will back you hard on that one (don't take that literally lol)..when healthy we took down the league's best. McDavid, Crosby, OvenChicken, Matthews and so forth. Now I'm not saying we would have stayed in the WC hunt I still think even if healthy we could have flirted with 20th spot but still that's a good thing. Moving up the standings a bit every year and just picking away at filling our needs with the roster.

Hardly lay it all on a 1 player signing.
With that criteria there would be no GM with a job. LE hasn’t caused us to miss the PO’s or lose a cup yet. Many other teams have worse signings or questionable rosters.
