Andersen is a great goalie, that was a very schrewd pickup made possible by stockipiling draftpicks by selling older players for multiple years and flipping some for a player like that. I do think Toronto has done a great job. Buffalo needs a goaltender. Canes and Avs are currently a couple points out, so you don't really have a leg to stand on there, they look like legit teams.
Were I some kind of anti-tanker, I'd point at Boston who has managed to restock their shelves and stay somewhat competitive. But I'm not, so let's go get another top5 pick!! - neem55
If the topic was building a winner for Cups then not sure praising Canes, Avs, Sabers and Laffs serves you well. It could be me.
But if you are saying that years of sucking and picking high to get to bubble status is a great outcome well guess it is an improvement. Let's see if any of them actually stay in real contention. I've seen this dance and fade before from them. Only Laffs, with generational luck, in super weak division are playoff legit. But winning a round is no certainty.
Though would love it if any of them pretenders gave up some of their developed assets and or picks for Canuck cast offs. |

My thoughts also.
EG for Flames 1st/NYI 2nd be real nice - Nighthawk
Kind of what I'm hoping for given the market and lack of D sellers and Isles desperate immediate needs. Let's see if the forces that be converge that way. |

If we could get 2 2nds I'd be ecstatic, but a 2nd and a 3rd or 4th is what we are going to get. |

You recall the predictions over Burr and Hanson. TDL is funny in that it isn't based on perceived values. Its more a buyer and seller pendulum where value has more to do with immediate impact to buyer and market forces on lack of sellers or other means to gain. |

2-2nds is what i’d settle for. A 3rd or 4th doesn’t hold much value for me. |

Notice Nylander floats & doesn’t keep his feet moving. I question if he has an NHL engine. Questionable if he will be a top 6 F more likely top 9 IMO. No fan of his perimeter style. |

In contrast to Petterson who fights for every inch of ice and takes hits trying to go around defenders. Love seeing that compete. |

I see EP as someone who puts pressure on D vs Nylander thinking he can take his sweet time. Lazy loses out to aggressive. |

Fun watching the WJC and certain prospects on measure of development.
As for draft pretty stead fast in notion there are 3 tiers in top ten for BPA. Ranking within the tiers is fluid and much more subjective and probably team needs or take will determine the order.
But will say Dahlin stands alone on 1OA. Then next tier is mix of any not in particular order of Zadina, Svechnikov, Boqvist and Tkachuck. After that a third tier full of D from Dobson to Bouchard as my favourites.
The good thing for Canucks is that the odds of getting the much needed top pair or #1 stud D are very high for 2018 draft. If they add another 1st that increases of course and they have choices of doubling up or grabbing an elite to top 6 forward. Don't see any players that will be centers up top let alone #1 centers though this draft. |

Do they still have a shootout after OT to determine who wins the gold medal or is it straight sudden death OT like in the NHL playoffs? |

I’m watching players who play at a high pace & work hard every second everywhere on the ice. Little details tells me a lot. Swedes impress me as do many on Canada. |
