Sorry I was actually generalizing that statement, for everyone that has a hard time interpreting my post, everyone but Horvat and Boeser Should be on the trading block.
Now seriously, he will not be trading 21 players, but he should be open to trading, keep signing guys like Vanek, Sedins to one year deals that can fill in, while the picks and prospects develop their skills in a development league not named the NHL.
I hope this clarifies the post. - Makita
Oh I understood. I'm just a wienerhead to people that are like !
The team had made strides this season before all the injuries.
I would hope one day that Van can sell someone every year at the TDL for another pick and that player can be replaced with an AHL player that is near the same quality of the player traded.

Cassels was the next sure thing third line center for the Canucks on Hockey Buzz in this thread. Same as people here anointing these prospects now. I was the king of anointing the next great prospect on these threads . I learned very few pan out to be NHLers. So until they make the team temper your expectations. - VANTEL
To be fair, only clueless fans thought this. Anybody that watched Cassels play in junior knew he was trash. He can’t skate! He never could ! |

you're right, of course, about adjusting. Can't predict that in advance, so this is the best / simplest model available today. Regardless, 5th pick has the greatest probability, for the 3rd worst team. - SlightlyOffside
yup, you are correct. But if you take three draws, with adjustments in mind (you used to be able to do it on the simulator, but they changed it) and factor in the likelyhood of winning one 10%, one 15% and one 18% (for example) our chances are a lot better. Either way it's a top 5 pick, so I'll be happy (again). |

Doughty playing 29 minutes a night helps too. - neem55
LA found a #1 Goalie, a #1 center and a franchise D man in the draft. That's for sure the start of a winning team. |

Some people have a very difficult time hearing anything remotely negative/realistic about the Canucks. Because I am a hater, I understood exactly what you were getting at. - Marwood

Yup. Lombardi did a hell of a job building around them, Richards and Carter. Willie, Regehr, Williams, Gabbo... just a lot of very saavy moves. But you got to have those pillars first! |

I agree with you in that the canucks should be open for business, but i would extend the list of roster players beyond bo and brock. I think Baertschi has more value here than in a trade due to his chemistry with Bo, I think JV is definitely worth hanging on to because his value is much lower than his potential.
I would also add Granlund, Pouliot, and one of either Stecher or Hutton to the list. No sense trading a young developing player off for a draft pick where we will in all likelyhood get someone less talented or equally talented but several years back in development. |

 Well alrighty then,
I have really pulled back on posting here lately, but I still read all the posts in Carols blog.
After reading days and days, or should I say week upon week of, Sedins, Benning, Chaput, Sedins, Linden, Benning, Sedins, draft, NHL development, Sedins, Benning, goats, etc. I just thought I'd throw out my thoughts on what I think would be a good system to make the Canucks contenders and not mediocre in a few years.
I didn't think I was  , but whatever floats the boat I guess. |

You just need to word it different, "would you trade Sergachev for JV?" |

I would definitely trade JV to get Sergachev!
Isn't happening, though. |

I think Buffalo has done really well, actually. Unlike the Canucks, they develop their young guys in Rochester (AHL) until they are ready. It takes time, they were/are just a bit behind teams like Toronto in their rebuild. I expect them to push fora playoff spot as soon as next year if they are able to bring in some more d. - neem55
They have some very good prospects as well. |

Still hoping JB can grab that pick for their more immediate D needs to satisfy JT in playoffs. - Nuck4U
Tanev + EG --> Islanders
Calgary's pick + Kieiffer Bellows --> Canucks
just the ticket! |
