I admit I have been hoping for top picks for just a couple of years. I wanted change since 2012 but like Gillis I didn't pay attention to it.

Going forward I would rarely ever think of trading a top 3 pick

We all get caught up in the "now" when our team is doing well.
When you are very close to winning it all I can see moving a high draft choice or 2, but to trade your first 3 picks over and over will cost you.
Let's hope we don't ever get stuck in that situation again. (Thanks Mike)
Most of the great teams and even the good teams of my lifetime have acquired their core players threw the draft, including our beloved Canucks from the "Presidents Trophy" years.👍
I never cheer for a loss, expect the boys to play hard and entertain and if they lose so be it. They have flack all for depth at this stage of the transition. It will get better over the next couple seasons.

I agree, but not having the depth is the reason and that's a work in progress for this team, gilis left nothing.
